Ladies March Topless to Protest Double Standards

Ty McDowell, who organized the march, said she was "enraged" by the turnout of men attracted to the demonstration. The purpose, she said, was for society to have the same reaction to a woman walking around topless as it does to men without shirts on.

The rest is here

Ms. McDowell claims she will try to discourage oglers at her next topless march. If that's the case, I can suggest some women who would not only discourage male oglers, they would make them run away screaming with their hands over their eyes. ... But let's face facts. Men don't wear cowboy boots, western hats and big belt buckles so they will be mistaken for surfers. And women who walk topless in public areas are not doing it so they won't be noticed. Their egos would be crushed if no one paid them any attention.

The guys ought to throw dollar bills at 'em...that should take Ty over the top.

Where's the video? Krikey, they even got video of the tree falling in the woods and making or not making a sound. Someone MUST have posted the video somewhere!!

Bloody hell! I was in Maine that weekend for a mini-holiday! And I had proposed staying at a hotel right up the street from the march...but no..... my wife wanted to be a bit closer to our favourite lobster place and the beach...

Bloody hell...

:)

I can't believe that California is going to let Oregon out do them. I have to make sure that I have my camera with me at all times now.

Ron

The kind of women that would do this are not your photogenic types (generally, don't go spaz on that). More likely one would run screaming from the sight while gouging one's eyes out with forks & spoons.

Mike,

I think what got me about this is they do it and then complain about people looking at them. I thought the whole idea of protests was to get peoples attention. Although in this case, you are most likely correct about the looks.

Ron :p

Another argument for implementing the .xxx domains!

Sheesh, you'd think all the grown men around here had never seen a bare tit. I assure you the web is full of them. All you can (heh, heh) handle.

I think that pair of statements answers all questions. The spokesboob likely did not mean her comment seriously (except in a theoretical way, which I agree with) but it's precisely the sort of outrageous sound bite that guarantees, uh... wide exposure.

Darn John,

You caught me in another error but this time I have an excuse sort of. I was reading and typing at the same time and when I saw Portland I put Oregon. Two Gold Stars for you.

Ron

It's okay Ron, I thought it was Oregon when I first read it also.

Maine vs Oregon... Looks like we saved Ron a trip to Portland (Oregon).

Mike

It could still be worth the trip.

Portland has more strip clubs (topless/bottomless) per capita than any other city.

Ron61 04-10-2010 07:16 AM

Just wait until we get our Men's bottomless protest march organized.

Ron  :) :p
