OZ,
If you look carefully you'll see a few of the cars are already left hand drive; most are indeed right.
From Wikipedia:
Quote:
The U.S. drives on the right, in LHD (left-hand-drive) vehicles.
The first keep-right law in the United States, passed in 1792, applied to the Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike, between Lancaster and Philadelphia. New York (in 1804) and New Jersey (in 1813) also enacted keep-right rules.
Early American motor vehicles were produced in RHD, following the practice established by horse-drawn buggies. This changed in the early years of the 20th century: Ford changed to LHD production in 1908 with the Model T,[89] and Cadillac in 1916.

A couple of things strike me when watching this movie. Telephones although invented about 20 years earlier had obviously not yet made it to San Fran in 1906 or there would be wires all over the place overhead. I look at all those office buildings with countless offices in them and wonder, . . how the hell could anyone conduct business with no computers, no xerox machines, and most of all, no telephone!!! What did they do just sit there all day and wait for letters to arrive ?????
Also, what was the deal with hats !!!??? All of the men seem to have been pre-occupied with hats given that no one was without one!!

The other thing that I have noticed in just about all old pictures is the fact that everyone is dressed in black or at least very dark colors.
