Post Washing Dirty Dollars

I thought that this was kind of interesting as I hadn't heard about it before. They certainly get their length of usage out of each dollar.

Interesting ! I've seen some pretty beat up bills and wondered how old they were and thought about where they've been. YUK !
Dirty money can get you in trouble in many ways.

Bill,

Money is about the dirtiest thing that you can handle, especially on a daily basis. I remember reading an article about it that some doctors had published. But I wouldn't mind getting my hands really dirty for a short time.

I spent some time in the Philippines in the early 60's. Their paper money [Pesos] was different sizes for different denominations, and they had paper "centavos" too. Again sized by denomination. Many times, if not most times, you spent money according to its size alone. Old bills were a universal dark sandy brown color. No remaining evidence of any printing had ever existed. They all felt like fuzzy cloth.

Oz has rather cool bills - it's printed on a polymer film and is really tough to tear and does not soak up water. And it is colour and size coded for each denomination. And, because it is plastic, I imagine that it does not hold bacteria all that well.
