Ron:
Kristen's idea of a goat is sounding better every day.
Before long you will need a bush hog for the front yard.
Tru:
Not many maples around here because of the heat in the summertime. I am not sure they like those 110-112 days. They are really nice trees though. I can't even imagine what shipping would be on twenty of those. Of coarse bare root it wouldn't be all that bad.
Different subject:
We got our tax appraisal today for our home. The value went up over forty grand. I think I'll just sell my house to them. We have had to fight them every year on this house. Last year it was over two hundred thousand over valued. We made four trips and finally threatened to sue them before they resolved the issue. Looks like we are in for another round.

I have another question
We have a HP 2610xi All in one, printer, fax, copier, scanner and photo printer. It is a very nice "new" unit.
The question is. Do I leave it on all the time or turn it off when not on the computer. It would make sense to turn it off, right? But then how do I get my faxes if I am not here to turn it on?
I tried to contact HP, they have not responded. I am concerned about leaving it turned on because of the LED screen on the machine. Don't they have a short lifespan? This thing was reasonably expensive and I do not want to tear it up, or wear it out too fast.

Ron, you need a radio controlled lawn mower, just sit back on the porch with a cool one of your choice, and mow that lawn remotely. Now there is a project for Lil Mikie........Hey Mikie you think you can tear yourself away from the KK Calender girls long enough to help Ron out with this??????????????
Ahhhhh, Steve, taxes, ain't they fun.................................

Steve,
I have a H.P. Copier, Fax machine and I leave it on a lot of the time. Hasn't hurtmy digital display any. But you can call H.P. at this number. 800-474-6836. They have a habit of being slow to respond to e-mail. I guess they get a lot of tech questions and it just takes time.
And yes, Kristen's idea of a goat is sounding better every minute. A whole heard of them. I am still trying to get all of that old carpet cut up so I can feed it into the garbage can a little each week. To wet to mow so I have been workling on that.
Earl,
Boy would I love to have a remote control mower that I could just sit in a lawn chair and run by joy sticks. I am to old for all of this stuff and it just keeps raining. And it is really humid today too.

Steve,
Now that is funny for sure. Wish I could afford that lawn mower. Wonder if they would take one of my cars for trade. I am not sure about a Texas Goat. California grass and a Texas Goat sound like a real mix to me. Lots of fertalizer and more grass then more fertalizer on and on.

I think you should go with astroturf before the expensive mower. One time expense. No more gas for the mowers and trimmers or anything!

Now there is an idea.
How much is fuel anyway. It cost me $5.00 a week in fuel just to mow my yard, myself. I mostly mow twice a week.

Ron,
Go with the GOATS !!!
From what you have been telling us you have what they need and you want to control.
"Basic goat nutrition is important, and adequate roughage is a vital factor in this equation. Weeds, grass, and hay can usually provide the necessary roughage requirement."
You'll have milk covered and will go with the BBQ they are know for. Hides aren't bad for boots, belts or hatbands.
While the rest are feasting on your yard you can shear them for sweaters for those cool morning in your Cobra.
Just don't let them sweet talk you when they start whispering
RRROOOONNNN.
BTW Have you gotten the Bark thing yet ???

Brent,
With the amount of area I have I had thought about astro turf but it would cost as much as my house. Also they couldn't guarantee that it would stand up to the Winters and Summers and not start to rot after a year or so.
Fred,
Yes I have the bark thing and so far I don't know if it is responsible or not, but that dog next dooor doesn't bark now unless he seesanother dog or person going down the street and then he quits as soon as they pass by. But I still won't endorse it as being the thing that stopped this. I am just enjoying the quiet and don't want to jinx it.

4RE KLR - We have used may of the HP all-in-one machines and we always leave them on. It is harder on them to turn them on and off then to leave them on. We have some that are 5-6 years old and going strong. The only problem is someone yanking out paper jams and breaking the gears. Use the machines backward/forward button to have the machine eject the jam. Also if the machine is not on no faxes. You can also turn off the auto answer and no recieve faxes. Take care, Jon

Thanks Jon,
That is why I asked. I could not figure out how this thing would take faxes if I was not here to turn it on.
Sometimes it is the simple things that get me.

Just checking in
Ron (CW,) Maybe we'll run into each other at Carlisle this weekend.... I'll probably be drooling on the original Street 427 that ERA brings.

BLykins:
Brent, Did you get your priority mail today?
Ron:
Good of you to drop by & visit. I have a computer question for you. I keep getting this small window that says
CP_ Main
out of memory
OK
This is in a small window. I can X out but sometimes I have to hit the X twenty times or more. The hard drive is @18% used 82% available. Op system is windowsXP pro. Dell is telling me to reformat and debug the system again. I think not. I just went through that @three weeks ago. I back up regularly and defrag weekly so I know that is not it. I do not keep alot of different windows/ programs open at one time. None of the kids games are on the system, none at all actaully. Oh, MS office 02-03.
What's up?
McAfee scans clean across the board, it is updated automatically. Microsoft Antispy comes clean as well. Pop up blocker is always on. I clear the browser cookies and cache regularly. The search history is auto cleared at exit. I know that does not remove everything
Thanks
