CG, welcome back........................

Flip, I have 4 Glocks, 3 9's and a 40....love them all....I don't do a lot of shooting tho, not really enough to justify them all.

Ron, no, the post yesterday was just a "bored" me at work and not the result of any virus. Its Summer schedule around here and we are averaging around 100 flights a day, down from our average of 300 during Spring and Fall terms so we are all bored...

Remember, Take Offs are Optional, Landings are Mandatory!!!

Kristen,

Glad to have you back. Sorry the trip turned out so lousy. Nothing worse than feeling bad and having headaches when you are suppose to be having a good time. Heat here is bad too. It was 111 yesterday with more to come. The guy that mowed the lot for me was one of the fireman. He worked the night shift and then came over after work and did it. He said they have a volenteer group that works with kids and I just donated some to that as he wouldn't charge me. City didn't do anything as usual. :(

Mike,

Very good. As for Wisconsin after watching a show about the Alaska Glaciers yesterday, they really look inviting. I shoot a 9MM Btowning Police special and a 22 Magnum at the range. Sold the 352 Magnum as I just need the guns for protection when hiking or walking in bad areas and the 352 would just go to far. I carry a 15 round mag. mixed with police penetrating amo and hydra shock and a couple of silver tip hollow points thrown in. The other mag. I carry mostly hydra shock in. The 9 MM I carry when driving the cars around. Also when certain people show up out here but now that most of them are dead or gone that has eased a lot. Our qualifying is based on speed shooting and changing of magazines and the revolver people have trouble making it all the way through some times. The speed loaders are great once you get the hang of them.

Earl,

I figured that you were bored. No virus gets bored enough to go to sleep in the middle of a post.

Tru,

I thought that you had the car all ready to go. What are you doing to it?

Ron :)

trularin 07-15-2005 07:22 AM

Yeah, we broke it in London, ask Kristen, she can attest to the fact.

I am putting new brakes on the rear. don't like the Ford ones.

There's about ten things left on the cobra list.

Jon,

Lil Mike really missed his chance to close in on Kristen in the post count race. Must be out chasing girls. Now that our moderator is back, we will have to find someone else to talk about. :D :3DSMILE:

Can you believe this thread

It is nice to have a palce where you can BS with your buddies and it does not all have to be about the cars. Yes we all love the cars butthe cars are really NOT what makes great car club.

I Texas as for the TEXAS COBRA CLUB we have a simple saying:

It is about the people, an NOT the cars!

So what have we not talked about, hmmmmmmmm

The kitchen sink
Taxes
Our grocery getters
Things we got away with as kids
Our Fathers, we can't talk our our mothers!
Favorite places to visit.

Geez this thread will go on forever. Idn't it great:)

flipper35 07-15-2005 10:54 AM

I prefer stainless for the kitchen sink.

flipper35 07-15-2005 10:57 AM

I also dislike tile counter-tops as they seem to collect germs and dirt in the grout. My wife would like a new stone material thats out, but I can't remember the name.

4RE KLR 07-15-2005 11:10 AM

Cast iron sinks are the way to go. The will last for ever. Porcelin outer coat can be re finished if needed in 100 years.

They are using concrete on c0tops here now as the big thing. I pesonally think it looks like $hit but that is my opinion. Of coarse granite is our first choice followed by Corian.

flipper35 07-15-2005 11:24 AM

I saw the concrete and neither of us like it. Colored or not. maybe if I had a workroom and wanted to practice burnouts with an R/C car on the counter maybe.

The stuff my wife likes I think is a stone or granite agregate. Silestone maybe? How does it compare to the others?

hey,littlecobra 07-15-2005 12:21 PM

Silestone is very popular right now. My sink/countertops are corian. even the sink. I have about 30' of counters, I bet. too much. I went from 4 1/2 drawers in my kitchen to 21 drawers in this kitchen. We moved here almost 4 years ago. To get closer to the kids' school.
the first load of laundry is in. off to the grocery store in my grocery getter- '04 yukon xl. white.

taxes. hmm. haven't done them for '04 yet. will get to it...

...as a kid? riding on bikes anywhere we wanted to. now my kids can barely ride around the block.

fathers? mine was brainwashed by the witchwoman 50 + years ago. I love him but.....

place to visit? Isle of Man.

seeya. handing the computer over to the #2 hoodlum. off to the store. remember, I have my 'crop' this evening. (starting early; around 5!) yea!!!!

kab
:)

blykins 07-15-2005 12:38 PM

witchwoman?

Ron61 07-15-2005 12:40 PM

Earl,

You must be bored. First it was the ABCs and now counting. You must get to working on that Cobra. It is way to hot here right now to do anything but stay inside. :(

I have cast iron kitchen sinks that the porcelin is green on. My Mother wanted the kitchen in that Avacodo Green they were using back then. Tile breaks when I am around it.

Daily driver is an old 1965 Comet with a 289 two barell carb and automatic transmission. I getmore coments about it than I do the other cars.

I am afraid to think of the things that I did as a kid, but I was well aquainted with a razor strap. If we had all of the safety crap then that we have now I would never have survived.

Taxes is just money thrown away out here. Don't even like the word. Now everything is a sur-charge.

Ron :)

EarlsflyinCobra 07-15-2005 01:08 PM

Kitchen sink..........................Stainless

Taxes..........Tooooooooooooooooooooo much

Grocery getter...............03 Ford Explorer

Got away with...................Slow Gin Fizzes in High School

Father........in the hospital since just before Thanksgiving/Not looking good

Mountains in Georgia, Florida Keys, Cruises on the Open Seas

flipper35 07-15-2005 01:15 PM

At least the A/C in my daily driver works well. Supposed to be 119* tomorrow. At least it's dry, by the time Ron gets it he will have 90%+ humidity too!

Just had a great time with my *** and dad. 35 is the number he used to use so that's why it's attached to my name here.

We had a cast iron sink in the master bathroom, but it started to rust. Must have ben a bad one or a cheap one. Or both.

Ron, can you come use our bathroom? Then we can redo the tile floor in something else. I think Terrazzo (sp?) would be slippery, but there are no grout lines and it looks nice!

4RE KLR 07-15-2005 01:49 PM

We now have cast iron sink with black porcelin, it is awsome.

Granite c-tops

My dad was my hero, he passed when I was 18, long story I still don't want to talk about. I learned a lot from him. First and foremost was "son make your living with a pen, and NOT with a shovel". Thanks DAD!

We went on a cruise several years ago that was really enjoyable to the Carribian(sp). WOW. But right now we are looking to move to the great NW, somewhere in Oregon. It will take some time to find a place we can work with but we are actively looking in the Cannon Beach, Oregon area. Breathtaking scenery.

Taxes for 2004, Shhhhh my extention is almost up. We meet with the CPA on Monday 8-1-05. I am sure it will bite!

Real Estate taxes: We just disputed our real estate taxes and got the value lowered by @ 40K. So we saved about $1,400 on our taxes.

My favorite quote of all time:
Vince Lombardy,
The quality of a mans life is in direct proportion to his commitment to excellence; Regaurdless of his chosen field of endevor.

Seer also my signiture line for another of my favorites. This one reminds me of real life.

flipper35 07-15-2005 02:12 PM

I quote your tag line to lots of people.

I also like this one:

"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing."
George Bernard Shaw
