Like I said, it wasn't me. Lathroscopic or something is the term nowadays. 4-8 hour stay post op from what I saw on WebMD, but no mention of back to "normal" feeling.

alright, flip with hernia thing, flipper with gall bladder. hmmm. no help in either department. I guess that's a good thing. Now c-section, having babies, all that girlie stuff, I can help out there!!

I don't think laporaoscopy is as bad as invasive surgery used to be.... a few days, I'd say. (Have had that, but don't know about the gall bladder part of it)

TMI. SORRY.

Hi Flip, I hope whoever it was recoups faster than I am with my surgery. It is a (literally) pain in my side...... They could not do the laproscopic due to my 10" appendix scar so they had to go in from the back...lots of back pain also. Good luck to them..>Earl

Last March I started my body rebuild with hernia repairs for two
linguinal and one umbilical hernia. I had laporaoscopy on all with
mesh for the linguinals. The umbilical herniated again so once
my knee joint replacement wasn't bugging me I had the umbilical
repaired with the mesh this time and there are six puka's around
my belly button (none the first time, just in the button itself I guess)
and judging from the ouch factor, no way will this one herniate again!
No way do I want to sneeze!
I was in and out the same day and should be ok in a couple of days. No
fun at the moment. Hoping I can get in and out of the Cobra by Monday
so I can get at least one day on the road.

For those that can - enjoy the weekend!

Gall bladder, laproscopic procedure, back to work 4 days later. Linguinal hernia, conventional surgery, (which I refer to as my linguini hernia) 2 days flat on my back and another week before I felt like I could move with relative freedom and get back to work. Much more uncomfortable than the gall bladder and a lot longer to heal.
Bypass , conventional surgery, don't remember anything about the 1st day post op except for when they took the tube out of my neck, that one hurt. Sugery on Monday released from hospital on Friday. Really, really don't want to cough for a couple of weeks and shoot yourself rather than sneeze.
Was ready to go back to work after 4 weeks but doctor and wife made me wait 5.
Two years after the bypass and I really have to think about it to remember I had it. Scar is almost completely gone and the only thing I have left to remind me is a pair of clips they used to hold the sternum together with when they were closing things up. Can still feel them under the skin but don't cause any problems.

my trophy is here, yours is missing because you didn't send in enough $$. The star is for 'previous donation to CC', or something like that.... you lost posts, or pounds? the moderators are randomly testing posts for content, and deleting any they find questionable. I'm sorry yours must have been questionable!!

Default making progress on the tires....

hey. scraped the last of the sprayed on paint off this afternoon. Scrubbed the wheels. Gross. The inside of the wheels (by body) were heavily caked with oil, grease and road grime. Mostly came off really well. Tomorrow, phase 2.
g'nite!
Kristen

Kristen,

Good pictures of the tires, but you have to tell me where you got the stuff to shrink you back to your child hood self. Not sure if I want to return to my younger years, but it would be interesting to see for a few days.

Flip, & the rest,

Just post your mailing addresses and I will send each of you a box of sneezing powder.

Ron

Kristen,

I just noticed your new Avatar. I like it better than the tire. Now why not a picture of you and your Cobra?

I'm too fat to fit in the avatar!!! I swear, when I want to lose 5 lbs., that's exactly what I GAIN. I have got to lose a few pounds. I hate getting fat! I wasn't fat a couple of years ago! I don't think I was fat last year. This last month has been really hard- we've eaten out soooo much, fast fooded it tons, go go go. I am sooo glad school is out and we can slow down a bit.

Scrapbooked til midnight last night, and actually got a couple of pages done.
I don't want to shrink back to when I was 8 yo. Anyway, I don't have red hair. Well, I've paid for it to be red, but doesn't do really well on me!!! I think I was skinnier than she is when I was 8, tho'.
Quite chilly this morning. Weird. We cook all day, and freeze all night. I am gonna clean up the house, clean up myself, and work on my tires and scrapbook ALL DAY.
I went to change the signature over the avatar, and when I typed in "converse moderator" it blocked it. it showed 'converse *********'
Guess I couldn't list that I am a self proclaimed Converse Moderator. Converse Regulator is stupid. I will change that.

Talking

Kristen,

You aren't fat. I wish I could lose 45 pounds. It seems as I get older all I have to do is walk by food and I gain weight. When I was in my 30s I was on a special diet to try and keep my weight up to above 150 pounds. Now when I think about that, it seems impossible. Now I just tell people I am not fat, I am just to short for my width.

As for the Avatar line, How about Converse Spell Checker.

Well, now I know where the black clouds that we had here this morning went. The weather station was saying we were going to have some thunder storms and all than and about the time they finished the report all the cloudshad vanished and the sun is out and hot as usual.
Hope that you don't have a tornado there Kristen. I got to go through one of those in Kansas years ago and I prefer the earthquakes. It seemed we sit in that underground storm cellar for an hour and the roaring was something else. But I doubt if it actually lasted over a few minutes. Just seemed a long time to me as I was so scared.
