Me, Don't you recognize Turtle when you see him on stilts? I thought that fit right into the racing category.

Ron

Tru
Is that your new big block? One horsepower at the front wheels. Fantastic!
I'm sure you could pull both Frenchy and Turtle with that set up.

Site was down for a couple of hours. Time to go limping thru the food store!

Warren,

I had to go into COSTCO and pick up my medicine so decided this was a good morning for it. Supposed to be partly cloudy and in the 70s here the rest of the week. I need to mow again already. But tomorrow and Friday are pretty well taken up, so I may wait and see if it rains this weekend before I mow.

Ron :D

Warren,
How is the muscle pull ?

Good to see you chime back in.:)
I was starting to think that you had taken a few too many pain killers, jumped in your Cobra and were somewhere in Kansas heading west or north or something else.**)

wtm442 04-25-2007 03:42 PM

Fred - thanks for asking. Yesterday the leg was just semi-OK. So I did some painting this morning .... bad maneuver! The leg is hurting big time now. Got about 1/4 of the way thru the food market, and bailed thru the checkout line.

This muscle pull really (_ _ _ _ _) fill in the blanks. Took a muscle relaxer pill, and now it just throbs. Guess I'll have to stay off of it for at least a week or two. It took me about 5 minutes to get from the car to the back door!

Hope everyone in south Texas is OK ... tornadoes, kids with hand grenades ...

Ron61 04-25-2007 04:12 PM

:(

Warren,

Sorry to hear the muscle is hurting so badly. You have to remember that at our age we just don't heal as fast as we used to. Use the weather to get in some good resting and watch TV if you have anything worth watching. About all I watch are the history and discovery channels as the stuff they have on now is junk for the most part. Take care and keep us informed as to how you are getting along.

Ron :)

trularin 04-25-2007 06:55 PM

Warren, hurts huh? I imagine that might be part age.

I planted trees today, only four.

Picked up the PT Cruiser, it runs okay.

Went back to writing, had an idea and it panned out.

Ron, what about the coup?????

Ibr8k4vetts 04-25-2007 08:29 PM

Just working on getting the Cobra ready for WSCB;) I wish you could have made it there, I would like to meet you. maybe next year when Ron shows up:p

Ron61 04-26-2007 07:58 AM

Mike,

To quote Kristen, nice to see you posting again. I could have told you 500 years ago that getting old sucks. The nice part that once you get past a certain age you don't remember anything and therefore don't realize that you are old. I just assume that all people wander around in a daze like me. :D

Ron

Ron61 04-26-2007 11:57 AM

Warren,

I blame you for this. I went to town and when I started to back into my carport as I twisted in the seat I pulled the muscle between my shoulder blades and the pain is terrible. I can't even lift my arms above my waste hardly and may have to go to my doctor for some pain pills. It even hurts when I breathe. Yea, I know, stop breathing. I can't even lie down and sitting straight up is the only relief I can get. And tomorrow I have a very busy day scheduled.

Ron :D

wtm442 04-26-2007 12:56 PM

Ron
Tough getting old, isn't it. Sounds just like when I cracked a rib about 5 years ago when wrestling with a friend. The doctor said there was nothing he could do. Told me to take short breathes (why not?) and stop coughing and laughing. Great advise **) **)

But he did say that I should wear a tight fitting vest. I found an old 3 piece suit and the vest was small, but I put it on. It really helped. But like you said, I could not sleep in bed. I had to sleep in the Lazy-Boy chair for about 2 weeks! Definitely NOT fun. Blame it all on Frenchy.

Ron61 04-26-2007 01:02 PM

:)

Warren,

At my age to get any older is almost impossible but I can still feel pain. I started to step down onto the top step out back and almost threw up it hurt so bad. How in the devil could I pull a muscle like that by doing nothing but starting to turn to look back while backing up. I have did the same thing for years and now this happens. If I thought that Frenchy had anything to do with this, I would have a hit man on the next flight to Texas.

Ron

wtm442 04-26-2007 01:22 PM

Hey, I have NO idea when I pulled my groin muscle, but $hit happens.

Regarding the cracked rib, I know exactly when I did it, and it was just my stupidity. But the doctor said that some people have cracked ribs from coughing. Sounds reasonable ... but he also said that some people crack ribs when stepping off a curb!

I can definitely see a pulled muscle (or cracked rib) from turning around. Geeez, here is some memory for a grand time about 25 years ago ... went to the emergency room because of intense pain in my chest. Had a few tests and doctor said that I had caught one lung on the end of a rib ! Wowowowowow.

Sounds painful? You bet! I was a basket case for a few days.

Just take it easy!

Ron61 04-26-2007 02:00 PM

I think we are starting to fall apart. I had the whole ligament and muscle structure tear loose from behind my right knee years ago while walking across a racquetball court to pick up a ball as we were warming up for a tournament. My knee was so bit it looked like a basketball by the time they got me to a doctor and that was 9 months of misery. Then one after the breakdown my nerves got so bad and drew up so hard the doctor couldn't get a needle in my chest to give me a shot to relieve them and they tore loose from my rib cage, plus squeezed my heart enough I had trouble breathing for a while. And all they could do was tape me up tight. Do you think we are in trouble?

Well duh.

If y'all were horses I would be real worried right about now.

Fred,

I am in so much pain right now that I can't worry, and I am sure that Warren is about the same. This having to take very small breaths to keep the pain down is the pits. I wonder why we ever invented pain.

Ron
