Ron - those pics are cool
Tru - I hope it did not rain on your ride. They now say that we might see the sun on Sunday ...  My left over meatloaf is almost gone, so I just started 8 pounds of corned beef (in a salt brine for 3 days). That beats grilled PNB&J everytime. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...0/DSCN0487.JPG |
What is going on here. Warren gets bored because of a little rain and you turn this thread into a cooking forum.
Ron ;) |
A couple of more optical illusions. You should be able to read a word and see the man's face in the second one. Ron **) |
The one with the word Liar in it is intersting.
Getting ready for the London show. Warren, are you getting ready?!!?!?!??! TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Warren is probably busy putting pontoons on his Cobra in place of the wheels.  Ron :JEKYLHYDE |
gurgle, gurgle ......
|
Tru
This is the weather thread ... and its BAD here. Stop hyjacking Fred's movie channel thread. Ar-ar-ar-ar-roooooo :p :p :p |
You might be a redneck...................
Yeah baby..................
|
Darn Earl,
I hope that isn't what your Cobra is morphing into.  Ron  |
Wasn't jacking anything. I'll leave that one along.
So, do any of you carry a tool box or small assortment of tools when you are out and about????? I am getting tie-downs for straps to hold down a small tool box in the trunk. Was wondering if you had done the same. sunny and 70 for both days, I am taking the wife on a cruise later today...if she'll go. :D Earl has the picture, yeah!!!!! |
Tru,
I carry a small plastic tool box that just fits perfectly on the side opposite the battery. Have all the main tools I would need, in it and also an extra coil wire and plug wire just in case. I also carry an extra belt for the fan and water pump. A socket set that fits all the nuts and bolts, also rachet type box end wrenches and open end ones. And of course a set of allen wrenches as I have some allen screws on mine that need to be checked from time to time. A can of spare tire or whatever it is to get me into a station in case I have a flat. I put two small chrome holders down in the floor and screwed them down and the yellow tie down straps go through them and fasten on then outside side wher I can just pull the end and they come loose. Ron :) |
I sure would like to use my beach car to beable to trade up to a ride like Earl's.
It's always interesting after driving on the beach a brake line rusts thru and falls off.Shouldn't be much longer until they all get replaced, one at a time. Tru,I always carry an assortment of wrenches in my Cobra.Needed them once, so far ,in four years. |
Trunk
Tru - is that short for trunk ... :p :p :p :p
I am always prepared. The Sears tool box fits great in the back of my SPF without any tie-downs necessary. There are some other tools (plus cleaning supplies and spare parts) in the plastic tote box. Have to bring folding chair and cooler to shows and cruise nights. Spent a lot of time getting things situated in the trunk so they do not move during spirited driving. Note the ADJUSTABLE bunji cords to secure the chair. "Highland" is the brand name. I bought set by P/N 93300 at a local auto parts store http://www.highlandusa.com/category_products.asp?id=104 http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...0/DSCN4674.JPG |
Warren, that is a class act. What is in the cooler?
I think I carry the stuff Ron mentioned. I have it in a red tool box. The LoneStar has one of the largest trunks, so I also carry the car cover. Fred, I am not sure I could survive with just a set of wrenches, don't you carry more? Last year at London, I also carried a complete hydraulic jack and ground cover. |
Tru - thanks ... the cooler contains ice and beverages, usually non-alcoholic. I also have plenty of room for my car cover behind the tool box on the ledge. I add that when going on an overnight trip.
When I started to organize the trunk, I did a search on CC to find what people did carry in their trunk. I have attached a Word file for your pleasure. After my last post I had breakfast, and since its RAINING, I fell asleep. 3.5 hour naps are wonderful .... :p :p :p |
Tru,
Here is how my trunk is laid out for tool box and battery. Ron :) |
Warren,
For when you become to depressed from Cobra Withdrawal. Ron  |
"Fred, I am not sure I could survive with just a set of wrenches, don't you carry more?"
It's a pretty wide assortment of hand tools.Open & closed end,normal length & stubbies,ratchet.Small multi-meter.Flat blade & philips screwdrivers.Spare qt. of oil.A few shop rags.642 S&W. Fix-a-flat. And of course Zaino & microfiber towels.:) |
Tru,
I also forgot to mention that I carry a long nylon tow strap in the hidden area behind the seats. An extra set of spark plugs and some water. At the rate mine gobbles gas, I would carry a spare fuel tank if I could find a place for it. Ron :) |
Okay, I finished the tool box install. I sort of did the Warren - Ron thing. I put in the back part of the trunk, so I can put the car cover next to it. And, I put most of what Ron has in his box, which looks a little like mine.
I'm going to have to carry a pry bar as a "add-on". It was a rough day, I mowed for a couple of hours. Well, it didn't rain over the weekend and I got some great rides in. I'm starting to think I should carry around a camera, I'd have all those shots like Warren does. :D |
