Life is good, at least for 2 days without rain!!!!!!
Tru has his trunk set up, Ron's computer has not crashed lately and HLC is back.

Car show yesterday and long cruise today. :p

Made some nice looking girl happy by just letting her sit in the car. She was soooooo happy ... and so was her boyfriend/husband. :p :p

Great shot Warren!

UPS

I found an unexpected package on my porch last Friday afternoon. Had a last name of Hubert. Not mine.
Found it had 2 address stickers.1 applied at origin, the other here in Dallas. Neither my address. 1st one was for a nonexistent street, the 2nd one had my street but for a nonexistent house number. No Hubert on my street either.

Yesterday morning I call the HQ here in Dallas and told them about the package. Told them the above story and told them they need to pick it up.

ups: Did you open it?
Me: No, I don't open other people's stuff.
ups : What is the tracking number ?
Me: gave number
ups : What is your address ?
Me : gave address.........then there was silence for a while.
ups: There is an UPS Store 3 miles from you. Just drop it off there.

For some reason this irritated me.

Me: Why don't you just pick it up?
ups: It would be EASIER for you to drop it off.
Me: You got it here. You can pick it up.
ups : If that isn't acceptable, when you see an UPS truck just flag him down and give it to the driver.

me: I'm putting it back on the porch where you left it. I hope you get here and pick it up before someone steals it. Good-bye.

What's going on with UPS ???

hey,littlecobra 06-13-2006 10:22 AM

I'd do what you did- they left it there, they can come get it!

I wouldn't open it, either. Who wants someone else's junk, and what if?????

missed you in Tulsa, Fred. We had a really really great time. :)

trularin 06-13-2006 11:52 AM

Wow Fred, I thought your last name was Hubert, just send that money right back to me.:LOL:

If it gold bars, I must have sent that to you by mistake. Silver bars, same mistake. Who sent it to you? It has to have a senders address.

This has got to be good, I can't wait to see how this unfolds. :D

Ron61 06-13-2006 12:34 PM

Fred,

Now if your were friendly with the UPS driver that would never have happened. Actually they have been really good here, and if I have something to be picked up they will do it with no problem as he drives right by my house every day. There is a UPS pick up point about 6 blocks from here, but I hardly ever go there. You must have an ex post office employee delivering yuor stuff. That is the kind of stuff that happens at the post office here on a daily basis. Mail in my box with box numbers higher than they even go here and for people in different cities. Did they pick it up is it still setting on your porch?

Ron :)

wtm442 06-13-2006 12:51 PM

Fred

Call up the police and tell them UPS would not come and get the incorrectly delivered package ... and you hope its not a bomb!:D :D :D :D :D

Ron61 06-13-2006 12:55 PM

Or forward it to Warren since UPS doesn't seem to know where it goes.

Ron :p

No problemo here. I'm on a first name basis with the UPS, FedEx and postman. I erven have the trash men trained with tonic and cookies occasionally. They put the barrells back on the front porch after emptying them.... and whenever I do massive cleanup - I always go out to them and give them a tip.

A mother-in-law visits her son-in-law, before leaving for a trip. They are sipping coffee and chatting. Suddenly, mother-in-law looks at the clock and jumps off her chair exclaiming, "My god! It's already three P.M. I'm about to miss my train!"

She begins to gather her luggage together. At this moment, the son-in-law's daughter runs up to her and before he can stop her, she announces, "Don't hurry, granny! Daddy moved the clock two hours ahead!"

Tru,

I wrote down all the info on both labels. It was from Macys and was shipped from Washington State.
They finally picked it up at 6:16 pm yesterday.I called at 8:45 am.
Too light for your gold/silver bars in that package.Said 2#.
But after reading your post this afternoon,I went and checked my porch.Just in case.:)

I checked the status of ol' Hubert's package on the UPS website with the tracking number off the box.

"DALLAS, TX, US 06/12/2006 8:51 P.M. A CORRECT STREET NUMBER IS NEEDED FOR DELIVERY. UPS IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN THIS INFORMATION

06/12/2006 6:16 P.M. A CORRECT STREET NUMBER IS NEEDED FOR DELIVERY. UPS IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN THIS INFORMATION "

Maybe there was a rogue Pink Thong in there ???

hey,littlecobra 06-13-2006 08:27 PM

hey, you tryin' to drag me into this one??? ;)
hmmm a two lb. thong??? let's hope not! :p

trularin 06-14-2006 05:18 AM

Its a gross of them.

At 2 pounds, there's a lot of material in that box.

Well, Erich is going for his MRI today. Hopefully this will be good news. He is still planning on London. We hope to see many CC people there.

Going to be in the 90s on Sat and Sun, I might just have to go out and drive around...for the fun of it.

392cobra 06-14-2006 05:52 AM

If Lynne Hubert requires a thong that weighs 2# ,I'm more than a little concerned.
If she shows up here and finds out I had UPS pick it up,it might not be a pleasant experience.

Shouldn't be too hard to see her coming though.
