Good job on the avatar Warren.

Ron, I don't think Ernie is going to lend you anything.

:D

Ron61 04-24-2008 11:49 AM

Now Tru why would you say that about Ernie? He is going to need a place to store the Cobra and bikes until he gets all settled in. And if he decides on the Reno area, it will be an easy drive from here to there. **)

Tuesday night, my ride home was pretty messed up as the one and only direct route home was blocked. I heard on the radio that the ways to go around the lake were also blocked as you approached the area, so I just waited it out. Once I finally got through, I knew they were just looking for bodies at this point because there was a net across the river and a rescue boat with a probe stabbing in the water. There was also divers in the water.

Oh yeah...you're right. He's gonna need a place to store his toys while he is moving...what was I thinking?

Ron61 04-24-2008 12:09 PM

Joe,

Just this week they found another body floating in Shasta Lake. I don't know how many have drowned in this lake that have never been recovered. And when the Oregon College Kids would come down every summer for their big bash, there were always at lest three or four killed. But I think with the economy the way it is, there won't be much of that this Summer.
By the way, I just filled my car up and gas has gone up 20¢ per gallon on the two low grades since last week. It was $3.59 a week ago for the low grade when I was in and this morning it was $3.89, $3.99, and the high grade stayed at $4.09. Now they can jump them all three by 10¢ increments. I still believe we will see gas at $5 a gallon up here before this eases off. Man I love that 69 cobra and the 37 MPG it gets. :D

Edited to correct prices:

:3DSMILE:

Tru,

And I just happen to have an extra place in my garage. What more could he wish for. Heck I can keep them warmed up for him.

Ron :o

trularin 04-24-2008 01:06 PM

Ron,

Did you read your post about the gas prices?

I'd be happy to pay $2.79 per gallon.

37 miles per gallon???????????

Me thinks that Ron has been nippin too much of the sauce lately.

While driving around in the heat yesterday afternoon (91°F), I noticed a sign for a local law firm. I have been happy with my current lawyers (Smith & Wesson), but the firm of Slutsky & Slutsky must handle a lot of good and juicy cases.:LOL::LOL:

:p

Tru,

Thanks for pointing that out. My god, if anyone around this area read that we would have traffic for miles. I figure that by next week sometime all 3 grades will be above the $3mark.

The 37 MPG is if I take it easy. Tried for 40 once but couldn't get it. The mountain I was coming down had to much traffic. Got to beat Jamo's Corvette at something.

Took a ride out to the Endicott Estate in Dedham. Just your basic size house on a 15 acre parcel of grass. Yep, how would you like to mow a 15 acre lawn?

Then I drove down to the Weymouth Naval Air station. Damn, still cannot get out to all of the runways, but plenty of places to take some pics. They shut the airbase down and they are developing the base - homes, business, parks, golf course, etc. Huge place.

:)

Nice pictures Warren. That is really some house for sure. I took a short drive today to the gas station. I thought I may have to walk home after I put in my $20 worth of gas and the gas gage didn't move. :D

Fred said to tell you hello and that he and the Humpin Ho sisters are spending the night with the Twisted Sisters. He sounds as if he is having a ball and is visiting a lot of historical places.

Ron :p

trularin 04-24-2008 02:36 PM

Warren, you missed a spot.

4RE KLR 04-24-2008 05:06 PM

Damn
$4.29 a gallon for Diesel. WTF?

wtm442 04-24-2008 06:27 PM

Just came back from a 3 hour drive. Only put 23 miles on the Cobra! Stopped a lot of places and chewed the fat with many people.

Tru - what spot? I do not have a dog! Woof woof **)**)

Went past a funeral parlor and there was one hearse outside. It was a modified Chrysler mini-van. I laughed out loud and a couple of the funeral parlor people shook their heads in agreement.

I was going to yell out "Based on the mini-Van hearse, are you burying the poor bastard in a cardboard box?" I did not because one of the family members would be pissed if they heard that at the funeral of their loved one.

Hey, if ya can't laugh at death, don't get a Cobra! :JEKYLHYDE:JEKYLHYDE

Ibr8k4vetts 04-24-2008 07:39 PM

Just passed the gas station down the street, 4.39 9/10 for low grade and 4.59 9/10 for diesel:CRY:

wtm442 04-24-2008 08:05 PM

Who cares about the price of gas? Not tonight! It's "Body Count" night on AMC. Death Wish thru Death Wish 5. Blow the crap out of the bastards.

Nothing like an AK47 to reduce your stress level. :p:p

Ron61 04-25-2008 03:15 AM

:)

Finally my long tiring week is coming to an end. I went to the range last night to the safety and qualifying class so now I have my certificate to renew in January. This week has really been hard on me and I am drained. Nothing extra today so I may mow the lawn. I haven't felt this tired and week for a long time, but that is just my nerves starting to come back down from the high stress level. Whatever you do in in life, do not have a severe nervous breakdown as it will haunt you the rest of your life.

Ron ;)

Sound Familiar!!!

I don't know if this is funny or sad, but it feels eerily familiar!

A Japanese company ( Toyota ) and an American company (General Motors)
decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River . Both teams practiced long and
hard to reach their peak performance before the race.

On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile.

The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the
reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior
management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action.
Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person
steering,
while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing.

Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a consulting
company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion. They
advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat, while not
enough people were rowing.

Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent another
loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally
reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents
and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager. They also implemented a new
performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater
incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First
Program,'(sound familiar?) with meetings, dinners and free pens for the
rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other
equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses.

The next year the Japanese won by two miles.

Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower for poor
performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all
capital investments for new equipment. The money saved was distributed to
the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year's racing team was
out-sourced to India

Sadly, the End.

Sad, but oh so true! Here's something else to think about: Ford has spent
the last thirty years moving all its factories out of the US , claiming they
can't make money paying American wages. Toyota has spent the last thirty
years building more than a dozen plants inside the US

The last quarter's results:
Toyota makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in losses.
Ford folks are still scratching their heads.

IF THIS WASN'T SO SAD IT MIGHT BE FUNNY

Ron :)

wtm442 04-25-2008 05:10 AM

Good morning world. How ya doin?

Ron61 04-25-2008 06:38 AM

:)

Much better now that I don't have that %$@#&&*^ Avatar of yours glaring at me.

Are you taking Turtle for a ride today. Fred takes the Ho sisters.

Ron :p
