Fred, I love that.
A freind of mine has one of those for deer in his garden. I'll have to see if I can borrow it for the night.

So you want to spray the little beggars with ice cold water on a cold night.

Yup, you are going to have a bit of fun the day after.

Do you all have devil's night? The night before Alls Hallows?

:D :D :D

Ron :)

The buildings are 30 year old condos. Historical? Nothing other than Whitey Bulger owned one back in the 1990's. They are about 2 miles from my house.

That would be really mean. When I was a kid, if you did that you would have at least a dozen eggs all over your house and a couple of flat tires.

Of course, scaring the dickens out of the little tykes is OK. :p:LOL::p:LOL:

Hmmm...............

No devil's night. It used to be a big event in the metro Detroit area.

Probably get shot at these days.

I don't think motion detectors are sensitive enough for Turtle.

Ron-you know I wouldn't really do that to kids.

I wouldn't spray water on kids......Steve does though.:p

I just had to replenish the pile of candy bars. The Resse's Peanut Butter Cups are outselling the M&M's and Snickers on my porch by a ration of about 3 to 1.

... and the Resse's PNB cups is my favorite candy ...

hey,littlecobra 10-31-2008 09:23 PM

we had a ton of trick or treaters, but i didn't run out of candy. first year ever not to run out. i bought a ton extra, though, cause i figured being a friday night would be a lot of extra folks. our school carnival is tomorrow, and i'll take the extras there.
but... i'll keep the reese's, hershey's, and anything else 'good'.

happy halloween!!!
boo!

HI Cobra 10-31-2008 10:07 PM

It is just getting dark now - the little buggars will be out soon!

Ron61 11-01-2008 02:42 AM

Steve,

So far our rain hasn't turned out to be anything like they said it would but every drop helps. I see they have amended the forecast from rain today and tomorrow to showers and some sun.

Darn, would you believe that I slept through Halloween. I fell and twisted my ankle, skinned my knee, pulled a ligament, and hurt my collar bone so I went to be at around 2 PM and just passed out. Not so bad this morning but I am having to be careful with the ankle even with the brace on it. :(

Ron

Joe Wicked 11-01-2008 04:41 AM

Sorry about your knee and ankle Ron.

We went through about 40 lbs of candy last night. Like Kristen, we got so many visitors last year, that we bought at least 4 times as much candy and we only have about 1/2 of last years entire purchase left this year. Probably end up taking most of it to work.

Ron61 11-01-2008 04:51 AM

Joe,

We used to have a lot of kids come around here, but the past few years I hardly see any. Just to much dope, crime, and people putting stuff in the candy, so the parents won't let their kids go out. To bad it has come to that, but then this is Northern California with all of the dope and car theft chop shops than no one ever hears of. During this last round of fires 3 illegal Mexicans came stumbling out of one of the areas that was burning and they were badly burned as they worked for a Mexican Drug Ring that has moved into this area and they were trying to protect their marijuana crops. The past two years, things around this area have really gone downhill and the dopers are taking over big time.

Ron

wtm442 11-01-2008 06:14 AM

Ron
Sorry to hear about your accident. Get better. Did you do it running into your cabinet again or chasing the dogs?

I also have some candy left over, but only about 25 pieces. I will give that away to the neighbors today so I won't be tempted to eat it. Nothing like a couple dozen candy bars to blow a diet all to hell. :o

Yesterday it got all the way up to 64°F which was about 10 degrees higher than the forecast, so I had to take a short ride. I put on my Santa hat which got me a lot of waves and shout-outs. :p :p

392cobra 11-01-2008 06:31 AM

Sorry you're hurt Ron.

Seems like the last time you got this banged up was when you fell off the roof.
Were you checking the roof while it was raining again ?

Ron61 11-01-2008 06:39 AM

No, this time I was running Frenchy for his exercise around a 3/4 mile circuit and had to get off the street for an oncoming car. I stepped on a small rock and it rolled causing me to fall into the ditch. Most of the swelling is gone but the ankle and knee are sore as all get out. Yesterday it was raining enough that I never had to take them for their run and walk and it is raining about the same this morning so I may get another day of rest before I start over. We only have sidewalks around here on a very small part of the area that I live in, so I have to walk on the street. Right now I would make Turtle look fast.

Just received this e-mail from one of your Canadian friends.

Texas: 25 million people, 12 surnames. Something's not right here.

Ron

wtm442 11-02-2008 05:57 AM

Good Morning
Everybody change their clocks today. Last spring it was at least 2 weeks before I had "found" and changed all of the clocks. :p The last one was in my Mercury.

Well, its a balmy 32°F outside with a projected high of 47°F. Brrrrrrrr. Guess I'll postpone any fall clean-up chores in the yard. Anyone want 100+ small green tomatoes?

How much did Texas pay Texas Tech yesterday?

trularin 11-02-2008 06:02 AM

Ron, that's just the story you want us to hear. What is the real story?

Was she young?

33 degrees and cool outside folks. Deer all over the place. Yesterday we didn't see a one, today we have a venison convention. Go figure.

Good day for a fire. One of the last to run the mowers and get everything cleaned up.

You all seemed to have a good turnout at the door. We do not get kids at the door. It takes too long for them to get between houses.

Well, have great day! Ron you need to get well.

:D :D :D

Ron61 11-02-2008 06:44 AM

Thanks Tru,

It is cold here this morning but not raining any at the time. So far we have had about 1", far short of the 5" they had said we could get.
I hate setting the clocks back. Just because I change a clock doesn't make my body change to match the time. In another hour it will be light enough for me to take the dogs for their run/walk and then I can come back in and collapse in the floor. I drove around the loop we take and it is just 3/4th of a mile, but I run most of it with Frenchy and then walk it with Sweetheart so I get to do it twice. I may have to put on a heavy sweater under my coat this morning as it is really cold with this damp air.

Ron :)

Hey,Texas only has 23.5 million people.%/

In case y'all missed it,I heard that the Boston Marathon is today. OOPS - That's New York.
Warren has been working out hard for this year's race.
He is even getting Turtle to pace him.

Ron61 11-02-2008 07:58 AM

Just got back from my two dog run/walks and I am tired. The last half mile Turtle could have out ran me. It is still heavy overcast but nothing falling.

Well Texas fell on their face last night. I was listening to one of the broadcasters before the game and he said he picket Tech to win. It seems to me that has happened in the very close past with the basketball teams. Texas played them and was ranked in the top 3 and lost. Wonder if Kristen attended the game.

Ron :)
