It seems to me they could charge him as he knew he had the disease and ignored it anyway. The screeners at the airport would not have know about it, but how was he out and about in the first place?

This guy took 7, yes 7, flights knowing that he had TB and that he had been told that he should not fly.
The officials in Atlanta now say that they did not have the authority to stop him from flying, all they could do was to tell him that he should not fly. The worst part is that it appears that information about his condition wasn't passed on to airport authorities that could have stopped him from boarding planes.
The good news is that many of the people that came in contact with him have been checked and none have been infected, so far.

Why wasn't he in quarantine before this if he has that strain of T.B. that is so contagious? I just don't get it if it is so bad that he could take all of those flights and nothing can be done about it.

Imagine;
I guess we could go ahead and splurge and use a large caliber, considering the risk's that he has put others from around the world into..............
If you'll remember, that's kinda how AIDS was spread, very similar situation..........
Ron;
It's amazing what stupid people can get away with these days and I have no answer to your question.......Seems to me that he has put many,many people's lives at risk and I would hope and pray criminal charges can and will be brought against him, but I kinda doubt that will come to pass........

David,
What is really scary is they have only found some of the people on those flights. And when I was flying a lot, the airlines were pretty good at really not being sure just who was on a flight as they always over booked. And all it takes is for one person on one of those flights to have gotten it from that idiot and God only knows how many more that person may come into contact with before they finally manage to track him or her down. If nothing else he should be locked away for life for knowingly putting peoples lives at risk and not caring.

So now let me see if I have this right.
Speaker, a personal injury lawyer, who's new father in law works for the CDC in the TB section knows he has TB and was told he should not fly and yet he still goes. He admits flying to Canada and driving across the border because he knew he would not be allowed to fly directly back to the US.
1. This guy is a first class prick of the highest order.
2. What would Mr. Speaker do if someone walked into his office one day and said "Some guy knew he had TB and was advised against flying and yet flew anyway. I sat near him on the plane and now I have tested positive for TB." Speaker would sport instant law wood, see dollar signs, and the suit would be filed before the sound from the end of the sentance faded in the room.
3. He better pray none of the other passengers come up positive or another lawyer is going to have him for breakfast and rightly so.

Hardly the same situation... Last time I checked, AIDS is spread via shared bodily fluids, needles, etc.
If you could get AIDS by sitting within a few rows of someone, they'd have closed the most of the airports in the world.
Large caliber would be justifiable. The guy is a self centered ass who should be removed from the gene pool.
God help us if he managed to procreate during his honeymoon.

Everything is ok now. He has apologized, but I think there is some lying going on somewhere as some say he was told not to fly and he says he didn't know he was contagious.
