Default iPhone

I work for AT&T. We have a 5 year exclusive on this thing. If any of you have seen the adds, you know that this is the coolest thing!

They've released the info that the cost of the phone itself will be either $400 or $500. But I haven't seen what the cost of the services necessary to support the features of the phone will be. Just how much is internet on a phone? On THAT phone?

Maybe related: A.T.&T. is now offering DSL for $10/month if anyone is interested.

Monthly
10MB plan - $30
20MB plan - $40
Unlimited data-1500 messages - $45
Unlimited data-1500 messages-unlimited M2M messages - $50
Unlimited data - $80 (no limits on messaging, etc).
Unlimited data + WiFi - $100 - (IIRC the WiFi will give you access to one of their partner programs for those hotspots that aren't free like in various airports, maybe some hotels, etc).

The iPhone is actually $500 for the basic phone and $600 for the one that you need (add a $100/per month for the best service).

You'll also need a pay an erroneous fee to cancel your existing agreement.

$100 per month for internet.

Is plain old phone service extra, on top of that?

So $600 for the phone and $150-$200 per month? +++?

Thanks for the info.

I have a couple of quarters in the glove box so I can use the pay phone!

Actually it is a hand held communications center. And of course they don't mention that the atmosphere, weather, sun spots and God forbid a nuclear blast will stop them from working. Anything that goes through the air is susceptible to atmospheric conditions and that is why the top secret military will always have land line back ups.

I think this is just crazy.

Sure companies need to keep their new gadgets under wraps but the public really does know much about this product yet as far as how it will perform. I think there may be some unannounced problems with his new device that people will not know about until they have spent their $1,000.00

I think I'll just keep the one I have. Besides I had ATT years ago and the service was terrible, the customer service was even worse. I swore then I would NEVER use ATT again and I won't. I had that service for twelve years and they could not have cared less about me as a customer. They lady told me if I didn't like I could go somewhere else.

That is exactly what I did. No ATT for me EVER again!

BTW:
Not trying to start a rucus here I just don't like ATT. If we were all the same the world would stop turning

Just try to buy a cell phone now WITHOUT a camera, music player, games and twenty-seven other things you don't need or want!

More answers to the questions nobody asked!

Rick, you are correct. I have an old Motorola V180, NO CAMERA!, and many features I never use. Bought 3 off ebay for $25 each, unlocked, small and speaker phone. Some guy is selling in lots of 10!.
I like the commercial for the Iphone but I'm not interested at $500 a pop and,
another C note each month. I'm just not that important.

Default wicked cool

I was one of the many crazy nutzos standing in line for hours to get one and all I can say is WOW is this phone cool. Being an apple user I know how easy this is to use. As far as you PC users, I hope it works for you too. It's a mini computer with all the capabilities of a regular laptop. I am one happy camper going to car shows and still being connected is awesome for me.
