Taxes And More Taxes

I read an article that said the top 52 billionares in the UK grossed something over 150 billion last year and payed a cumulative 16.5 million in taxes. I on the other hand pay 48% of my income over 100K.

Life sucks and then you die.

Andrew,

I know that feeling very well. When I was working I paid so much in taxes that the other two guys combined didn't pay that much. I felt that I was fortunate to actually get half of my pay as the Govt. sure was watching out for me. When I went on disability, one of the women from the Social Security Office came to my house to talk to me and she told me they had looked at my records and I had paid more into taxes the last 5 months I was able to work that her gross for the year was. I didn't mind paying my fair share, but I thought way back then it was tilted way to much.

Interesting. And notice the name of the company that moved him up. I don't think that Gates really cares about being the wealthiest.

Some guy in Redding wrote a letter to the Editor about how un-americian everyone is because they buy food & goods made in China and other countries. I can't find anything in the stores here that is labeled Made in the U.S.

Ron,

I just read an article that stated over half of China's exports aren't by Chinese owned companies. If it's true, foreign investors I suppose.

Maybe some of my US stock.

I knew I shopped Walmart for a reason.

Even back when I was working it seemed that most of the companies had moved their operations over seas. Even the telephone companies and Bell Labs had the computers made in Mexico. I buy most of my stuff from Walmart but still haven't been to their Superstore which is about a 20 minute drive for me.
