Hang in there Fred.
|
...
Hope you're doing well, Fred. Soon every day will get easier. Besides Frenchy, you could maybe get an ant farm. Then as you watch the ants, remember farmers don't wash the tobacco leaves since the plan is to dry them, not make them wetter. Besides the neighborhood dog problem, these little guys, the ants, gotta take a dump somewhere and they certainly aren't allowed to do it in the small confines of the highly disciplined nest. And just like us... they often don't have to go until they are in the most awkward area... example the highest part of a leaf somewhere. Luckily they have something handy and outdoorsy to wipe with. Remember... Tobacco = Phooey. P.S. Leave a little leaf or paper in one corner of the ant farm. Yeah, I know I'm demented. :) ... |
I am not posting lightly on this.... I wish you the best of luck on a wise quest...
I saw this and thought I can't believe this could hurt anyone..... http://www.popgadget.net/2006/11/coughing_scream.php |
Day 3 - Not Smoking :)
Miles, Thanks for the warnings. I find from the links that most of the people that had problems with Chantix were taking it along with a anti-depressant. Carter was taking it while getting drunker than two sailors. My nephew was a friend of his too. I do neither of those.I have been watching myself since all this came out though. No mood changes or anything, except for Frenchy looking pretty hot . Today, day 3,is suppose to be the worst for urges and cravings.I've noticed that but it isn't bad at all. I'm really glad I am doing this.:D :) |
Good for you Fred,
You know they say you can eat Frog.... EEK, not Frenchy though, she is like Family here. |
:)
Fred, Good going. You are really sticking with it and once you get the taste of Frenchy out of your mouth you will have it made. We are all pulling for you. Today is day 4. Maybe it will start to ease up from now on. Ron :) |
Fred...you're over the hump. Keep at it. :)
|
Keep it up Fred. Your food will taste better, and the wind in your face while sailing will be sweeter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I should look into this new drug, I quit cigarettes (Welbutrin worked for me) only to get hooked on cigars sometime after. Classic mistake, well I'll only have an OCCASIONAL cigar. This time, there will be NO looking back, no playing around, not even ONE drink, er, cigar.
Hang in there Fred. |
Ernie - I see you found the tread I was talking about - go for it!

10 Days of Not Smoking !:3DSMILE:
Here the last couple of days I've noticed that my sense of smell has really improved. Spent some time on my Harley today trying to pay attention to all the different smells. It's really kind of neat being able to smell all the different things I haven't smelt in several decades. |
:)
Fred, Congratulations. That is great. You will know that you have it made when you start to smell Frenchy. Ron :p |
Keep it up Fred. You will also notice that food tastes better (except for frog legs). Take it from me ... I've never missed a meal in my lifetime.
|
Day 12 of Not Smoking.:3DSMILE:
I have commented on my new & improved sense of smell. I also mentioned when I first started taking Chantix that gas wasn't a problem for me even though it is a fairly common side effect. Well, all of that is still true. BUT,with my better sense of smell I do think it could be a problem for innocent and not so innocent (Frenchy) bystanders. |
Fred, Right. Blame it on the Frog. Congratulations on how well you are doing. Ron :) |
Keep it up! You'll never regret it.
|
Fred - to help support your efforts, I just cut a big one. Turtle doesn't mind because he is outside, beyond radar range.
|
Congrats Fred!
My father experienced an awakened sense of smell first, then a better sense of taste. Then later, an easier time breathing. Not that it was hard to breathe before (that he recognized), but just became easier to take deep breaths. Keep up the good work! |
:)
Fred, Glad to see that you are making it through this so well. I am sure that Frenchy has been a ot of support. :) Ron :p |
...
Congratulations, Fred. It just gets easier with time. When my taste was temporarily screwed up from quitting, I liked to carry small wrapped hard candies to eat since they tend to have a strong flavor. My favorite was hot cinnamon and I still carry some in my grip while working to kill appetite on the road. Brachs makes some sugarless that are pretty good and only about 35 calories which is about half for most. Of course Frenchy is probably sugarless too. :JEKYLHYDE Sorry, I don't have any stupid story today. Maybe best since some of my stories could damage your sense of humor and you will still need it to get through this. ;) Keep it up. It's great to be free. :D ... |
