The UAW had 1.5 million members in 1979. They are now down to just over 500,000 and they still want to strike???? What part of biting off their nose, to spite their face, do they not understand?
Less and less UAW members are getting very well paid and also getting great fringe benefits but if this trend continues much longer, there aren't going to be any union jobs left in the automotive industry.
I would love to see the off shore car companies trying to produce their cars as quickly and as well as they now do, if their employees were members of the UAW.
