Gore explained:
Al Gore is the most worthless,forget-able,complete waste of oxygen since Jimmy Carter. And there is the link:
How many times would Carters name have made it into the news(after his term)if he WASN'T linked with Habitat for Humanity? It almost like he's been doing penance for being the most limp-dicked excuse of a President to EVER occupy the oval office. And he wanted/wants his name associated with something other than being known as the biggest Joke in presidential history.
Now to Gore.If he didn't find something to "attach" himself to(global warming)he would just fade away as the VP of "blowjob Willie"and the guy who whined like a five year-old girl when he lost the 2000 election. And lets not forget his equally "wacked" wife-Tipper.Remember her campaign to get lyrics rated on albums?Watching Frank Zappa handing her ass to her on a platter in front of a Senate hearing was something i'll never forget.
Question for Tom: Do you think we can change the temperature of the earth?

No,he didn't miss it.But anyways,For the below,"we" referrs to Humans and "effect"means one or all of the following"change course, shorten or lengthen duration, disperse or otherwise cause effect".
Can we effect a rain storm?
Can we effect a snow storm?
Can we effect a high or low pressure system?
Can we effect a monsoon?
Can we effect "El Nino"?
Can we effect "La Nina"?
Can we effect a hurrican?
Can we effect a earthquake?
Can we effect a tsunami?(after-all it's just a wave-right?
Let me answer for you seeing as how people of your ilk have a problem with truth & logic. The answer is no(duh) to all of the above. So tell me,Boy wonder, how can a race of people who can't even get a April shower to make a 2 degree turn to port is going to change the atmospheric temperature of the whole F&^KING planet? To think that we can is the 2nd most arrogant assumption on the planet. The first being that man is so F'ing important that we are alone in the universe.
Mother nature is nothing short of a B.ITCH.And we are nothing but a zit on her ass.If she wants to get rid of us-she'll do it.And there isn't a god-damn thing anyone is going to do about it.

The question was:

My answer: Yep.
What do you think would be the result of nuclear war? Ever heard of nuclear winter? 'We' have control over those nukes, not mother nature.
And I suspect that all of the questions you ask below, except the last two, would also probably be caused/changed by the resulting climate change created by nuclear war, and therefore, 'we' can.

Nice duck, but its not played out. Sounds to me like "the debates over". It is not. Bill is spot on (and dam funny too!!)
So, answer the thread with something other than "its played out" or move it on out.

Good one again, CG...Tipper this, Willy that...blah blah blah, and never acknowledge that the world is not black or white, but mostly gray. Actually, for your benefit, I'm a lifelong republican (from massachusetts) but these things are important and not so easily dismissed...the middle is where it's at. You can be sure you'll be hearing more from those left of you since the righties have messed up their chance to control the agenda by the shift hard right. Tom

seriously, the middle? The 'right' and the 'left' have become the middle. 'Middle' thinking has gotten us exactly where we are at today.
Have you read the Marxist Manifesto?
You have been indoctrinated well comrade .

which would be a better description a constitutionalist or a libertarian?

What's to blame is debatable. What is not debatable is that the ice is melting quickly. Of course the earth goes in cycles, but I would have to think that gasses are helping in some way. Even if it is a fraction, and I do mean even a minute fraction.
So do you ignore the fact that there is a change, or do you do something, even if it is a little to help? One good thing that Gore is doing is he is asking for a cleaner earth. An earth that our great great grandchildren will inherit.
I personally don't like Gore. I think he has become a showman, and it is proven that he is a hypocrite. Just look at his carbon footprint, but I still think a cleaner earth is a good thing.

Imagine: Do WHAT??? Tell me WHAT.
JT: Not sure how to answer that.
TDay: A Republican from Mass? There is only one I am aware of, and his name is Freddie. And, so far, he is the only one I trust. Are you really VRM under a new name?

you mentioned how much of you is libertarian, I was wondering if a constitutionalist wouldn't be a better description.

Nope, he is not me. I'm an independent. I have issues loyalty, not party loyalty.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch.....
Forecasters Blow It, Again: '07 Hurricane season may rank as most 'inactive' in 30 years... http://www.coaps.fsu.edu/~maue/tropical/
If forecasters cannot predict an upcoming hurricane season then how can they possibly predict something 10 or 20 years down the road???? They've got it wrong for 2 years straight now.

Mr. Bomelia,
I can't tell you what to do to contribute. I have no idea what your lifestyle is like, but this I have taken notice of. You are an intelligent man, and well read. I am sure you know the answers already, and most likely practice them. Wasting energy, and resources is expensive, and only a dummy would do that!

Let's see. Wasting energy and resources.....hmmmmm
Sell the Cobra first...gas guzzler par none...polluter of the atmosphere
Light candles at night instead of incandescent bulbs...or maybe go back to whale oil...
We don't have an oil shortage problem...we have a lack of drilling, exploration and refining.
