Jetliners are the bigest culprid in my opinion. the polutants being dumped right up there high up. Just look up at the exaust trails left behind at any given time. multiplied by the thousands of jets in the sky at any given time. the polution number would be huge. Funny how you never hear talking about this type of polution. I,ll bet its the biggest contributor to our planets problem than anything else talked about.

Tom, I recently purchased a book entitled "Unstoppable Global Warming Every 1,500 years" by Singer and Avery. I'm about half way through it and I must say it is a very interesting read. In a nutshell, the book takes on alarmists with arguments based upon scientific studies and historical fact. Good stuff.

1985 CCX 11-05-2007 01:35 PM

Being a scientist that is not connected to the movement directly gives me a different perspective. Most alarmist reporting, supported or not, has been from outfits that make $$$ on their activism.

Our planet cycles in temperature and that is not news. Are we contributors? Mt St Helens spewed more toxic and hazardous pollutants into the air than current forms of transportation over the last decade.

Here are a couple questions, food for thought if you will!
1) What happened to T-Rex, my 5 year old will tell you = Ice Age
2) What happened to the glacier which covered our continent thousands of years ago? Global warming post T-Rex........
At what point in history of the planet's cycles above did mankind have a hand in it? Campfires?

Lastly:
That Al Gore is amazing, first he invents the internet and now he is directing us on global warming. Good luck getting China on board.......

redd 11-05-2007 01:44 PM

Its amazing how Al Gore can win a Nobel Prize and the Academy award without having any background or degree in climatolgy.Hes nothing more than a mouth piece.

Madmiles442 11-05-2007 03:10 PM

I can tell you my local climate is warming.

First, I brushed my leg on my driver's side sidepipe. It was HOT and burned my leg.

3 months later, I approached my car on the passenger's side and put my shin against my sidepipe and it was DAMN HOT and burned my leg.

Last week, I put the back of my hand against my headers and it was FRIGGIN HOT and burned my hand.

Global (and local) warming sucks.

There were a couple articles related to how the skies cleared up right after 9/11 due to all the planes being grounded.

HI Cobra 11-05-2007 03:31 PM

It is something how one volcano eruption like Mt St Helens or Pinatabu?(PI),
can spew more crap in the air at one shot then man has done in centuries,
yet somehow we survive. Go figure. Cycles, what are they, Gore never
heard of them. The alarmists depending on it for their respective livelihoods
is the key, no doubt.

RedBarchetta 11-05-2007 04:25 PM

Interest rates still low...Dow above 13,000...unemployment still very low vis-a-vis the rest of the world. Short of gas above $3/gal, the Dems don't have a lot to b**** about it. So they play the global warming card because that's all they have.

Oh yeah, health care F'd up but always has been and will always be. Typical U.S. citizen doesn't understand GREAT vs. F'd up health care until they've been to places like India, etc.

By the way, when you look up and see the contrails from jets- that is just water vapor. On the other hand, if you are in Afganistan the little rockets that come off the jets leave behind a white trail of smoke before they go boom.

If I were a tree stump, I'd be offended.

He would be a Hemlock stump, soft and rotten.

I am still waiting for the world to end like some scientists told us would happen on Y2K.

If you want to see an interesting video on Global Warming take a look at this.
http://leaningstraightup.com/2007/03...swindle-video/

It's called the Global Warming Swindle. It basically takes a scientific look at The Inconvenient Truth. It tears it apart with some of the scientists that were listed as part of the study. The study included all the scientist they talked to even if they didn't agree with the findings. One of the co-founders of Greenpeace also shares his views about global warming hype. It's in 9 parts and runs about an hour. You need to scroll down a bit to get to the videos.

It's freezing in the Pacific Northwest right now and we barely even had a summer this season. Where's global warming? Gimme some!

I'm with you on that one.

I affectionately refer to this place as the Festering Sh*t Hole. I'm a sunshine type person.

The day I retire will be the last day I live in this state.

Hey Guys, we are getting a little ahead of ourselves here.
Remember that there are two sides to every issue.

Namely the side Al Gore is on and the correct side.

That is part of global warming according to the kooks. I often bring up that point to people when it's ten below and thats the response I get. It's convienent how everything from floods to draught are the result of global warmimg. I guess I am a bit uneducated but to me warming always meant warmer?

wtm442 11-06-2007 03:51 PM

It is a proven fact the global warming has been cause by the heat from Al Gore's breath. If he would shut up, we all would be better off. :p
