It's Official!! I'm a published writer!

Woo hoo! I have an article published in the January issue of Corvette Magazine!
They have posted the article here, but the mag has pics with much better resolution.

Ok, so it's about Corvettes, but at least they are L88s. :o

The autograph queue starts now...;)

Did you get paid for the article?

BeanCounter 11-15-2007 06:47 PM

Since I take that mag is there anything political in the article so I can just dump it in the shidter before it makes me mad.:)

bomelia 11-15-2007 09:51 PM

What was that about using this forum as a soap box?

Good read...congrats on a nice accomplishment. :)

Ron61 11-16-2007 02:27 AM

:)

Congratulations Steve,

I don;'t take the magazine so can't read the article in it, but any time you get an article published it makes it easier for a follow up. I would like your autograph in 24 karat gold script mounted on a solid walnut background. :3DSMILE:

Ron :)

hurricaneharold 11-16-2007 03:48 AM

and not a Cobra in sight ..........

Well Done

VRM 11-16-2007 08:40 AM

Yep, I got paid. I got an email from Jay Lamm asking if he could run it, and telling me what they would pay for it. I probably would have let them run it for free.

The only political stuff has to do with racing and a corporate buyout.

Ron,
The link I posted goes to an online version of the article. It's racing history, not political stuff. They have some good historical pics as well.

Harold,
I have written Cobra stuff - I've done all the long-winded driver bios over at Computerworks cobra site. He hasn't posted the last two I sent, so I've not bothered to write any more. The majority of Cobra guys seem less interested in history that the Corvette guys (though the Corvette guys history emphasis is mostly on stock). I think it's due to the fact that the majority of Cobras are still new.

lotsa neat ol racing history ther good job...WB3

wtm442 11-16-2007 09:50 AM

Congrats, especially since you were paid. Being published is nice, but being paid is mucho better :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE

I used to write magazine articles on very technical subjects when I was working, and the company paid $150 per magazine page. So I always made sure there were plenty of sketches and pictures.

It's always nice to see your name in print. Keep up the good work.

Its a good article, its always good to read about the history of the Cobra`s also,if your articles were not put on csxinfo then I dont blame you for not writing anymore.

What do you mean that the majority of Cobra`s are still new ....?

BeanCounter 11-16-2007 12:29 PM

Steve,

Great article. Enjoyed it immensely. You're at your best when you're talking about cars.

Well, there are about 1000 original Cobras that are 40+ years old. There are how many thousands of replicas that are a lot newer than that? Most replica owners that I have talked to actually know very little about the real history of the original Cobras. Just an observation based on my experience.

Steve

trularin 11-16-2007 06:08 PM

Contrats Steve. It takes a little to get published.

:D
