I have no idea if climate change is just part of a normal cycle or if the human race is totally responsible for the change. It is probably a combination of both. However, my opinion is that if the world population continues to increase at the present rate, the planet is doomed. It is not a question of "IF", it is simply a question of "WHEN".

For centuries, the population was controlled by famine, disease, and war so women had to have 15 kids just to have a few that would live. Life expectancy was half of what it is today, at least in certain parts of the world. Now we are being told that no one should starve to death and no one should get sick and die. All the while women in some parts of the world continue to each have dozens of children. The result is a population explosion. Forests are being cut down so that we can grow more food, the oceans are being fished to the point where we are eating the fish faster than they can reproduce.

This cannot go on forever. Our world is already over populated for long term survival but little or nothing is being done to reverse the tide. Climate change is just a symtom, not the problem.

Wayne,

You hit one of the problems right square on. Every year they pave over more and more farming land to build houses for more and more people who want to have food. When I moved to this area we had huge fields of strawberries and all kinds of farming. Now I would guess that at least 60% of those fields are gone and have housing developments on them. The last good agriculture land up here in on the Churn Creek bottom and last year they had a huge fight as the city of Redding was going to use that stupid Eminent Domain and take most of it for some rich developer to put in houses and a huge auto mall. So far the people who own the land and live there have managed to stop it, but the city will take it just to show their power. They still want to build and there are empty houses everywhere and more coming as they do the foreclosures on them.
