Meat,

You need cameras to catch people driving at unsafe SLOW speeds. I haven't been down there for years, but even then I could imagine what some person doing 50 would create behind him. Up here it seems the 18 wheelers like to drive side by side and block traffic while they chat on their radios. They will back traffic up behind them for miles and when you suddenly see a lane start to move you know a CHP car has been spotted and one of the trucks has pulled back into the slow lanes to let traffic by. This is as bad as the stuff you have, but is not called for as they can pass each other and go on at the speed limit. I have gotten to the point I like to see one of them pulled over and the CHP is doing it. We just don't have enough to patrol all the roads up here as it is so scattered out and there are long stretches of I-5 for one CHP officer to patrol.

Wow,

Another severe weather warning for here this morning. Snow level could drop to 1,000 feet which is just above the dam. It is cold as all get out but I haven't gone out to look at my thermometer as I will wait until it gets light enough to see. Must be overcast as black as it is.

Yes, at night it is overcast. Lack of sun does strange things.

All the way up to 14°F now. It was down to about 6°F last night. Still waiting for Al Gore to come by and drop off some global warming.

Warren,

It is light now and not only is it overcast but we have a light very cold sprinkle falling. The temperature is up to 37 right now. Not as bad as you have it but more than I need.

low 40s and rain here today. If this heat wave does not pass soon, Dallas is going to spontaneously combust.

Joe,

Watch out for the floating ice bergs as they come down from the North and flood all the lower areas. I can see snow falling on the small hills just past the dam, which is 7 miles from me, so I hope it doesn't get any lower.

Heck yesterday morning I step outside to feed my dog and I find his water is frozen about 1/2 inch thick ice on the top. I can't break it or get it to come out, so I just poured hot water on top. It melted some of the ice and got cold quickly. It was enough until it warmed up enough for the ice to melt.
