I think it's a forgone conclusion that Obama is going to win. I have voted conservative all my life and this time it's Obama, not because i like him. BECAUSE McCain had 25 years to do SOMETHING besides vote against the fence etc.The same for Hillary , the co-president who had years to solve problems and do not!

i keep getting calls from the RNC for support and money- but do they listen to us when its vote time.
My children who are in there mid 20's think McCain is old, so kiss that age vote away.
WE NEED CHANGE

Cobrabill 02-25-2008 03:37 PM

Joe-remember the last time you people asked for change just for the sake of change?
We got Jimmy Carter-the biggest piece of $hit to EVER occupy the Whitehouse. His policies put us in the Middle East situation we're currently in.

You want change? That's fine.Vote for someone who has a friggin plan.NONE of the Democrats do.Change for the sake of change is a disaster waiting to happen.

wtm442 02-25-2008 03:58 PM

I hope the Dumbocrats do not have a clear winner until the convention. The more mud that is thrown between Obamawon-kenobie and Hillerydillerydock just makes McCain look like a saint.

Ronbo 02-25-2008 06:20 PM

This time around I can honestly say we'd be better off with no president. I'd rather pick someone out of a police lineup then the coming choices.

I'd be curious what would happen if we just got rid of the federal govenment, plant the military back at the borders where they belong, and to hell with the rest of the world.

Take a four year vacation, we deserve it.:MECOOL: I'll ride a moped to work if that's all it takes.

bomelia 02-25-2008 06:39 PM

Look, it plain 'ol sucks. No doubt the Republican party will sink lower if McCain gets elected. But that is just the way it is. A vote for Barack Hussein Obama is a vote for the terrorists. It just ain't worth it to send THAT message. All you so called conservative "I'm gonna send a message to the party" folks are playing a dangerous game.

It is a deep and mysterious irony that his middle name is Hussein and that his last name ryhmes with Usama. Also, he spent time as a Muslim. Now, certainly, none of this has nothing to do with anything. Right? And I really mean that. But I have no doubt in my mind that he has zero ability to run this country. You wanna vote for the next Jimmy Carter, have that on your resume? Go right ahead. But you give up any right to bich about it later.

I so badly want to use the word FOOL here, but out of repsect for my fellow posters, I will not.

Obama, he's my main man! :D

In the above link there is picture of Bush dressed in traditional Vietnamese garb, I guess that means he's a communist?

Ron61 02-26-2008 02:02 AM

I will most likely vote for McCain more from my fear of the others than from my like of him. Hillery has no agenda at all except to go down as the first woman president, and I really don't think Obama has the experience or desire to stand up to the terrorists. I am just tired of having to choose between the least worst.

This will be yet another Presidential election that makes me grimace to think about.

I'm curious, how many of you felt this way 20-40 years ago?

Wayne Maybury 02-26-2008 07:38 AM

Maybe, just maybe, this goes to prove that good, smart, high quality people don't want to get involved in politics. Think about it, you have to raise $300, $400 million dollars to run. How many IOU's do you have to sign to raise that kind of money? How many a$$es to you have to kiss? Smart, high quality business people just don't want to get tangled up in all of the crap that goes hand in hand with politics.

Oh, I see - so, taking a look at the OBAMA SPEND-O-METER (Republican • National • Committee

OBAMA’S LIBERAL FISCAL AGENDA: OVER $874 BILLION IN NEW SPENDING

Is that the changes that you had in mind? Besides, not getting anything done is not actually the case, but no getting anything done is not so bad either. Leaving us alone seems like a good plan to me.

HELLO DADDY, HELLO MAMA (A Letter from Camp Obama)
Tune: "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh (A Letter from Camp)"

Hello Daddy
Hello Mama
Here I am at
Camp Obama
Camp's as pretty
As a painting
And they say we'll have some fun if we stop fainting

Our Barack has
Gifts of healing
Stevie Wonder's
Out four-wheeling
I met Oprah
Over dinner
Since she's been here she's got thirteen inches thinner

All the campers
Drink the Kool-Aid
That the counselors
At the school made
This is change we
Can believe in
'Cause the campers who come in here won't be leavin'

Now I just thought
I should buy ya
A small bust of
Our Messiah
You can put it
On your dashboard
It will guide and guard your car so it won't crash more

Yes we can!
Oh Daddy, Mama!
Yes we can!
I love Obama!
Don't tell me
I ought to find out facts
Of how
He plans to spend and tax

Yes we can!
I promise he will
Heal the holes
That cause the problems
In our souls
Oh please don't make me say
Just how--
He'll find a way

Got to stop now
Looks like we're through
Camp Obama
Has a curfew
Every day it's
Early rising
After "Washing of the Brains" it's "Plagiarizing"

Wait a minute
What's this gabbin'
Two new campers
In our cabin
See their nametags
Read the printin'
Seems the campers' names are Bill and Chelsea Clinton!

The last person I was happy to vote for was Reagan.

Carter wanted to make everyone happy by using the Johnson method of throwing money at it till it went away. It worked exactly the same.

Only reason McCain got the nod was 90% of the country didn't know who the other guys were or paid attention to what they said.

A dollar already can't change hands three times before it's completely absorbed in taxes. Even suggesting new ones should be punishable by banishment to the north pole without a jacket.

Here's a neat quiz you might want to try out: World's Smallest Political Quiz

I'm a libretarian / republican fence rider.

65cobra1 02-27-2008 12:35 AM

With all the rhetoric, BS and accusations all the politicians are throwing around, has any candidate made any statements about reducing, examining or re-evaluating the amount of foreign aid we are throwing down that black hole?

Ron61 02-27-2008 05:12 AM

:(

Foreign Aid is a taboo subject. But with the Billions we are spending to give the Illegal aliens everything they could want, one or the other has to be brought up one of these days. I guess the Democratic Senator that went on TV yesterday touting his bill to cut off aid to our troops overseas and basically blame them for the mess wants that money to help more illegals come into the country and get health care and everything that our own citizens are denied because they can't pay for it.

Ron

GovTrack: Barack Obama

(Obama bill sponsorship)

Read the Global Poverty Act, this is the one where the US is to hand over 0.7% of GNP to the UN. Its about (I heard) 85 Billion (annually)

I realize obama has no real plans but to bankrupt us --but McCain voted liberal so many times and he is the BEST OUR PARTY can put up to run!! The RNC needs to get there ass really cleaned this time and maybe in 2012 they will give us a real canidate.
This country has to wake up and maybe a guy like obama spending every dollar i and others make will get them to wake up.
We dumped Carter after four years and i hope obama gets dumped after four.
McCain had years to solve social security, medicare and our medical mess and he did nothing, why vote him in now just because he is a war hero. I respect him for that service, but for god sakes HELP US POOR SLOBS. Did he listen to us on the fence or Kennedy-McCain or McCain -Fingold NOPE!!
He voted only 62% of the time in 06 conservative, but in 07 once he decided to run it went to 84%. I see a snake.

Obama will bankrupt us? Our country is borrowing money from the Chinese to give everyone some crumbs? GW is doing a fine job at bankrupting us.

All 3 candidates leave a horrible taste in my mouth. All are talking out of the side of their mouths for votes. No one is standing up for want the average American needs.............

EXCALIBUR....my very thought.....LOLOLOLOL

At least when Billy C left office we had money in the bank,
what has the Bushwacker done for us, just spent all our g.g.grand childrens money. The last time we had no-one to waste our vote on I went green party. Just my .02 worth.

Well the government did.

A lot of people were standing in unemployment and welfare lines... The US military stationed in Germany was collecting welfare because they qualified for it.:o

Here in Jacksonville I was working on transmitters (Navy ET) that were built by General Radio in 1952. Reagan got us money to replace them. Not to mention showing old Momar what we thought of his "line of death". Say what you want about Contra, Iran knew what was comming if they kept those hostages.

George W for all his faults, had to deal with the mess his dad left (Iraq), 911, and several huge natural disasters. If you look at the last 8 years, they were pretty rough for any president to have to deal with. Amazingly I even saw a interview with Clinton where he told the reporter "we knew at some point we'd have to go back in there (Iraq)" he also said he knew exactly who attacked us when he first learned about 911.

I could give a crap about owing money to China... Everthing they send us is junk, tell them we won't pay it because they don't honor their warrenties. We're literaly drowning in piles of consumer "e-waste" half of which failed after a year.

GW is getting the blame for what is essentially incompetence on the part of the government itself and I personally can't recall it ever being different...
