Wow, I could not stand that show, as it all seemed contrived but he will be missed. I really did enjoy his cars. I first heard of him when I lived in San Diego. I was attending a local car show and speaking with some of the guys with hot rods. I came up on a very nice large display of 4 cars and spoke with the builder. His name stuck with me because I had never heard anyone named Boyd before (I thought he said Boy, and he had to correct me). Turned out to be a nice guy in person and had no problems letting me really check out the cars. He knew I could not afford any of them, but it didn't matter. I think that day really solidified me as a car nut instead of just liking some old car designs.

I heard he had diabetes.
