Exclamation Watched All Episodes Of Ax Men

Yesterday they had all the episodes of Ax Man on one right after the other. Very interesting and sure did bring back some memories. God I hated choker setting. Some of the places reminded me of Washington State with all of the ferns and greenery that means a lot of rain. But I am happy that I did work in that for a short time as I can really appreciate what those guys have to go through. It really does make a whole world of difference to watch something you have done in the past compared to something you have never experienced. Of course we had to use Mammals and not the nice big machines they have now.

Ron,
They showed them all except the new one here. That stupid Oprah show came on in its place. Had to change the channel quick.

Makes me glad I never worked in the paper industry. But I'm thankful every time I go to the bathroom.

On a side note, I once visited a couple of paper mills in GA on a business trip ... boy, did they smell. The smell in my clothes was so bad, I had to put everything that I wore that day in a plastic garbage bag so I did not smell up the rest of my clothes in the suitcase.

Wasn't the clothes that smelled. Quit blaming them. And believe me working in the logging forests is far different from working in a paper mill.

I'll bet you Ron that you wish you'd had those modern steel axes to chop the trees down with ?

Yea Doug it was a bear beating them down with stones. But on the other hand the dinosaurs worked a lot better than tractors as they could get around in the forests. And no Sky Lines to mess with either.

So far I am embarrassed, and my wife thinks that what I do for a living is way to dangerous as it has opened her eyes to some of what I have been trying to tell her over the years.

The small community mentioned near the end of the program is my home town. The first trees you see at the bottom of the screen with the town in view is my dad's place.

I hope they show some of the flooding that went on there in December, think the film crew was staying in Vernonia during the flood.

Scott,

It is dangerous and hard work for sure. So many people have no idea of what it takes to get that board to the hardware store that they buy for a shelf or something. One Summer of working in the canyons here was enough for me and I was young then and the canyons were just a few feet deep. Also we didn't have the rain and jungle like features that your ABUNDANT rain causes.
