Default No playoff system for college football........

It always comes down to the almighty dollar.

The BCS panel voted against the "+1" concept, and by virtue, reinstated the current format until 2014.

Among the many reasons they cited...

1) Extending the length of the season. (they don't want football to be a "two semester" sport). Gimme a break. All these retards know full well that football, just like any major NCAA Division I sport is a 9 or 10 month a year sport. Everyone has CPT's practices and an offseason training program, so it's not like you're saving the athletes any huge trouble (I find it funny that they try to site the care of the athletes as the reason....they're only rolling in $$$$MILLIONS while the athletes have to live like poor college students). Beyond that, you could have a 4 or 5 week playoff system that wouldn't involve extending the season, you'd just have to cut back on the regular season games....something none of the big programs want because it would cost them money.

2). They believe it would be a "slippery slope." Well, duh. Yeah, everyone wants a playoff system. If a +1 system is better, than a 2 or 3 week playoff system is EVEN BETTER. That's like saying...."We really don't want to start giving people what they want in a college football championship format, cause then they'll want to make it even better still." How stupid can you be?

The bottom line is....they all want to keep their money. Under the current format, every retard who wants to sponsor a bowl can (there's only 5 million bowls at the end of the season, you can't even keep up with all of them now) and MOST of the conferences (outside of the idiots at the Big 10) get to have a Conference Championship game (which brings in big money). The Big 10 morons once again cite academic concerns (which is total bull**, so instead, they continue to take 50+ days off each year between their regular season and the BCS bowl games (something we've seen has done wonders for them)

Unfortunately, the reality is that college football (and the NCAA really) has developed these little "fiefdoms" in their conferences and no one wants to upset the status quo right now...they all make too much money. That is until...some team that has no business being in a BCS consideration (like HI or USF) makes the top of the polls, then they all ***** like crazy.

The madness that ensued last year in the BCS will go on again. For every year where you have a USC vs. Texas in a clash of the only high ranking undefeated (a banner year for the BCS tards), you'll have two years where you end up with Florida jumping Michigan at the last second (cause no one wants to see MI-OHst in the championship) or LSU come back to the table (even though there are teams with less losses, even late in the season).

There is some merit to having a BCS format where every game counts, but I would argue that you still have a good level of intensity with a playoff system AND you get the intensity of the playoffs (it's do or die and teams are playing 3 or 4 GOOD teams...).

Right now all a team has to do is put 2 or 3 major contenders on their schedule and pad the rest of the games in between with cream puffs. That way you can rest your players for 2-3 weeks in between each tough game and overlook terrible teams while focusing on the big game. It actually HURTS conferences like the SEC where you have to come strapped week in and week out. (Miami was the biggest bunch of idiots for changing conferences, they may never see another National Championship).

In the end, it's frustrating because the overwhelming majority of people WANT a national championship. But unfortunately, the almighty dollar plays its part and the BCS assclowns will never let that happen.
