Could this be a set-up/balloon float for the Amero?
Is a debit card that hard to use? I am sure the gov't would gladly subsidize the associated bank fees. Most likely by adding a "tax" on my bank statement.
I still am trying to figure out justification for this type of tax on my phone and utilities.

ah but what about the blind, numb, olfactory inhibited portion of our population?
Anyone ever wonder what the per capita ratio is? I am still dumbfounded that I can no longer get 5 gallons of propane in my 5 gallon tank due to regulations of a minute instance of incidence per propane refill.
I like the way this person wrote about it....
The Free Press -- Independent News Media - Alexander Cockburn
"There's no evidence that anyone has been killed by gas leaking from an overfilled propane bottle, excluding the random fatalities suffered by the sort of people who use lawn mowers to trim their hedges.
There's probably a greater risk of being bitten to death by pigs. Muzzle those pigs! "

Rick, whatever it is you're saying or trying to say, just remember lawyers helped draft the First Amendment so you could.
However, it makes me want to draft a law about not using paragraph breaks on the internet.

Jamo,
There are bad eggs in your business, just as there are bad eggs in mine. I do not, or did not mean to imply that all lawyers are in the same group. Sorry for the way it came out. The comment was definantly not directed at you!
As a home builder you can imagine the BS I have been through. I am sure at least here lately it has been similar to the attack on your profession. Yep, there are a hell of a lot of people building homes that have no idea what they are doing. Yep, there are a hell of a lot of people in my business that will shake your hand a shot you at the same time. I think it is just our chosen field.
I don't really have a problem with trying to help others, when I can as opposed to stepping on them because of their handicap as some have alluded to here. Like I stated before in this thread, The handicap issue does not hit home with a lot of people until it lands on your door step. You reap what you sow!

Simple solution...just 'raise' the denomination during the pressing operation. Simple and easy, no major redesign required. Even help sighted folk 'see' money in the dark! I have never really thought of this problem, but it would be a major PITA for the blind. Why not do something to assist?

Steve...trust me, I ain't that thin-skinned. Just messing around.
The thing that bothers me about handicapped discrimination under the ADA and a variety of state laws is the expense small to medium sized companies as well as local governments incure every time someone feels a reasonable accomodation must be made...it never stops. An emotional argument could be made on behalf of everyone of similar circumstances, regardless of how small a percentage the grouping bears to the total population.
You indicated it would be great if the Treasury could simply work new bills into circulation as we move forward. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Once something has been found to be discriminatory, it has to be resolved immediately. Who pays for that?
You can't cover one person's issue and not another once you open it up.

Yea, I suppose your right.
I didn't say we had to agree it was discriminatory though. I am not sure there is a way to make some happy with out pissing off more than you are trying to help.

It's easy enough to rip off a blind person (let alone a sighted one), put one price on the shelf and ring up another at the counter. The real problem is a lack of morality. A simple hand held scanner would take care of the reading issue. Guess you'd also need to have any warrenty cards, return policies, advertising printed in braille. Maybe a trail of diahrea leading to the toilets.
I've run a business here for over nine years, have two handicapped spots and a ramp that maybe one truly handicapped person a month uses, and countless trailer trash with granny's placard use.
No blind people yet...
It should be illegal to put candy out as well unless it's sugar-free, someone could be a diabetic.
Fact of the matter is except for the rare blind person wandering around super-cities like New York most are not driving themselves to shops, so these "all-encompassing" laws are nothing more than a financial burdon on businesses.
How would you like it if you went to replace your toilet and found you had to rebuild your entire bathroom to handicapped specs? This will only run you around $20k a bathroom, assuming you don't have to knock out any load bearing walls.
It's not unreasonable to not design things for .2% of the population, look how many things are'nt designed for lefties...

Jamo ever do any State industrial claims?
My left arm won't go over my head or reach a round to wipe my butt and I still have to park at the bottom of the hill.
I think the total award was for $1800.00 and your cohort got half...
Wanna tell us all again how honest the profession is? 20 minutes of paper work and the advantage taken of a 20 year old that didn't know any better.......

Actually, sounds completely fair...half the award for a half-assed case.
