Some years back the Sheriff in Daytona placed signs on I-95 that said "drug checkpoint ahead", then pulled over all the cars making illegal U-turns...
Somewhere along the line a judge shut it down as endangerment as a couple accidents occured from the U-turns.
Not to mention the court was probably not happy with the flood of people getting dragged in for a couple roaches in the ashtray. I don't recall it ever resulting in any major trafficing busts.
