so ... lemme see if I have this right ..... America invented the lightbulb, but now we can't make one?

Regarding the CFl disposal or breakage .... Retail outlets are open to legal exposure for breaching the EPA regs should one of these break in the store. If they don't follow the EPA regs then they are open to being sued by customers who "get sick" from the vapor & dust. Damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Good idea though to have a low consumption bulb - just somewhere along the way the good idea got lost in the bureaucratic enthusiasm.

So, if one were to... let's say... consider an act of tyranny for freedom.... Could one sense an action similar to the Boston Tea Party? What costumes to wear though? Gore masks? EPA enviro. outfits? I know someone could come up with a great one.

Will we be that far off from Big Brother taxing/fining those who turn on a light whilst the sun is up?

"I believe all who have common sense, as soon as they have learnt from this paper that it is daylight when the sun rises, will contrive to rise with him; and, to compel the rest, I would propose the following regulations; First. Let a tax be laid of a louis per window, on every window that is provided with shutters to keep out the light of the sun.
