Jesse Helms passed away today. A great man and a staunch conservative. He will be sorely missed. His kind is a dying breed in today's Conservative movement.

Some say that without Jesse ,Reagan would not have been elected and I believe the world would most certainly be worse off because of that.

That is exactly true. Jesse was a rare person. He stood on his convictions. He dared to go against the tide. He was Reagan Conservative. With Jesse, you never had to guess where he stood.

"Albright once said of Helms, he "was the kindest, most infuriating, politest, most aggravating and nicest politician I had to deal with in the United States Senate."
