They still have the old scaffold over at Old Shasta in the jail yard where they used to hang the criminals here. It is a museum now but quite interesting. The cells are located just inside and it is a very short walk out the back door and onto the scaffold. No Death Row or such. Anyone in any of the few cells was eligible.
