I had a new 14 seer heat pump installed, and soon the gas water heater will be replaced with electric. While searching for the most efficient water heater I ran across this guy, very interesting and has many recommendations.

I decided to go total electric because the gas company is ripping us a good one.

A couple of years ago, while remodelling our home, we replaced our ancient electric table top water heaters with larger, modern, conventional style water heaters. Following our plumbers reccomendation, we wrapped the outside of the heaters with a foil backed insulation "blanket" to save even more electricity.
