Amazing

I had never looked at all of that.We all see a spammer post here, every so often.
What I get from this is that the Mod's have a big on going battle everyday with them.

Warren,

That has been going on for a long time. I don't know if CW and Jamo deletes them or not or if they just let them stay as long as they don't start posting that stuff. Look every morning and you will see new strange names like that.

Ron

No Ron...you don't know.

Fred...exactly. Thanks for seeing that. We kill them as fast as we can, but they don't really show until they post. They'll join and lurk for awhile.

We can't presume spammers until they post a spam.

Jamo,

I use the "search IP address" (in the moderators panel, left hand column half way down the page in my case as in yours this afternoon 83.3.45.75 comes up with about a dozen other user names already banned for spamming) on new members that are suspect in nature (IE: before they post) on CHR, catches the same four or five spammers roughly 80% of the time.

The Hotrodders Bulletin Board had a long and ongoing battle with such junk....by a paid mouthpiece. The company made 'news' videos full of advertising and spammed it all over the internet baords. Google 'powerjon' and it should come up. Sad really, how the net has run amok in this kind of trash!
