Well, that shouldn't bother you one little bit since you voted for Bush.

just too add... they have met and spoke together in an informal town hall type meeting....

Very interesting quotes, especially about Clarence Thomas.

Actully...that venue was nothing like a town hall meeting. They each were interviewed by the church leader in separate sittings...not even together on stage. The questions were sent in ahead of time and read by the minister, and each of them were giving a general idea of the subjects (but not the exact questions). There was no give and take with the crowd or with each other whatsoever. More an intelligent Baba Wawa interview than a debate or town hall...McCain kicked ass by the way.

I actully don't know of any town hall meeting which actually meets the definition of a town hall meeting.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Town_hall_meeting

thus why I stated "informal". This might be the closest they come to an open debate. Do you think the Clinton years had non-scripted town hall meetings? How about Kerry? (Don't taze me Bro! Don't taze me!)

Although they may not have been interviewed together, they did appear on stage at the same time.

But I am sure that this is "above my pay grade." (what kind of POS stupid response is that?)

The point and intent of the original post, draws the same conclusion.

Hate to belabor the point, JT, but we all do that on the Lounge which is why we have threads...

They merely shook hands onstage as they passed. McCain was in a soundproof room while Obama was interviewed, and Obama left when McCain was being interviewed.

Unlike the current form of town hall meetings...no unscripted questions came directly from the audience, with no follow up to the answers of the opponent.

McCain does well in the unscripted venues...Obama reads well.

...which is why folks remember Carter and Clinton stripping us of any semblence of security of this nation and they won't let it happen again.

Honestly...let's cut to the chase and be frank about this: Obama's a POS.

I know...you guys keep putting up cartoonish heros...Bore, the wrinkled long-face and now a dead-on replica of Mickey Mouse...and you keep losing. Then you win Congress and you end up with the two POS leaders who can't do squat even with majorities.

Damn...it must suck to be a democrat.

Yep, and I have no intention of voting for him. I had no intention of voting for Hilary either. McCain is a POS as well.

I'm sure it must...probably about as much as it sucks to be a Republican.

BTW, you mentioned Carter and Clinton. I met them both years ago.
Clinton showed up at the place I was eating lunch at during his first campaign. I shook his hand and almost immediately checked for my wallet. The guy has loads of charisma, but he also reminded me of the ultimate used car salesman.

I met Carter during a reconstruction project for Bell South after a hurricane. He showed up and 'rallied the troops' before going off to help build houses a block or two away. He seemed like a really nice guy - too nice to be POTUS, and I just couldn't see him being CinC of anything other than the Peace Corps.
