Default The Cobra Affect

I just had to mention a situation that happened the other day while driving to breakfast. I'm sure I'm not the only one to experience a potential disaster on the road just because these little cars are so interesting.

My friend and I were on our way to breakfast with our brides, driving about 70 mph down Hwy. 95 in Arizona along the Colorado river. I was leading in my Cobra, my friend was following about 150 feet behind.

I suddenly noticed a car passing my friend, but holding in the opposite oncoming lane. I figure he was looking at the Cobras and just hanging there.
Well you can guess what happened next...a car coming in the opposite direction..blinking his lights and swerving all over the road. I then started to slow and pull to the side of the road, thankfully the "knucklehead" that was passing us woke up and pulled into the space between our Cobras. Shortly after that the guy passed me successfully.

Needless to say this incident was the topic at breakfast along with many other situations where we've experienced the Cobra Affect.

I know you all have many of the same situations and stories from your experiences.

Best Regards and Safe Driving, Bill

Bill,

When I had my cobra I had to actually drive off onto the shoulder once because some guy was passing me and looking at the car and just kept coming over into my lane. I was honking the horn and waving my hand and finally when he saw the dust from where I was off the pavement he jerked his car back onto the road and went on very fast. Probably thought I may take his license number and report him. I was just glad to get back on the road and not have any problem except for some dust that I stirred up.

Ron
