Because it's more convenient for the left to purposely ignore stuff like that than it is to admit that they were wrong. (Willingly ignorant)

Just like they forget about the convoys of Iraqi trucks heading into Syria before the U.S. ground campaign began.

And like they forget about the massive amount of chemical weapon grade gas Syria was getting ready to use against Israel just months after the Iraq invasion. Hmm... I wonder where Syria got it from?

Saddam was no fool. Using any form of WMD against U.S. troops would instantly justify the U.S. invasion. And leaving them in Iraq for them to be found after the invasion would also justify the U.S. invasion... so what's Saddam to do with all of this stuff. Easy: sell and ship it off to the Syrians who will most likely put it to use against Israel, in retailiation for Israel taking out Saddam's nuclear facilities many years before.

Oh, but it's convenient to forget that Israel had to destroy nuclear facilities in Iraq, because that too shows at minimum the intent of Saddam to possess nuclear weapons.
