I was a Non-Citizen for 6 years
Well, after 6 years happy years the Texas Dept. of Public Safety (DPS) once again regards me as a U.S. Citizen.
When I went into the DPS today to renew my Driver's License in person, after finding out I was regarded as non-citizen of the U.S.A. for 6 years,I tried explaining to them I was a Texan applying for a Texas Driver's License.
I asked why I had to degrade my status to legally drive in Texas .
The DPS clerk told me to prove I was a U.S. Citizen or no license. I asked how all the Mexicans were doing it. Ms. Garcia just repeated I had to prove it.
I showed them a Certified Birth Certificate issued in Lubbock,Texas.
My Driver's License is now renewed for another 6 years.

Fred - I see Ms. Garcia never did answer your question about Messicans
getting their licenses. Welcome back to being a citizen!

I think they should have thrown you, BB and the Humpin' Ho Sister back over the border. Of course, they can leave Josh here, because he has a bright future.
Here in Taxxachusetts, we can renew our drivers license over the phone or via the Internet. Same thing with a car registration. Of course, I could always go to a registry office in person, but its truly not worth the trip.
A few years ago, my aunt went to the Registry of Motor Vehicles and had one check already made out for two renewals. The guy at the RMV said she would have to come back with two separate checks, not one for the total. I would have gone nuts if they said that to me.

Fred,
You should have told her you are a citizen of Texas and here illegally. Then you could have gotten your license free and no questions. I think we can renew ours via phone for one time and they are for 4 years. I will find out next year as mine expires on 12/23/09. Last time I had to go in all they asked me was if I could see the eye charts. Next time I am sure that I am going to have to use my glasses but that is no big thing as I drive with them on quite a bit anyway. Maybe if I wear a big sombrero they will let me skip that.

After meeting with you and having dinner with you...I can see how she wanted to make sure you were an american.
Hmmmmm....... Fred, maybe she just wanted to check out the situation. Did she smile when you showed your birth certificate? Did she bat her eyes and ask if the Frogs would be out of town for any lenght of time? Eh?
I don't wonder if she wasn't sizing you up.
She didn't call and ask if you got your liscense in the mail -- just to check? Did she?

So what you are saying is you wasted your 6 years as an illegal and did not mooch off of the rest of us? Couldn't be. You couldn't have survived. You would have had to have the free programs and everything in Spanish. Lulac said so.

It has yet to be determined whether I was an illegal alien or legal alien or just a regular ol' alien.
The determination could have an effect on past benefits "The Man" screwed me out of by letting me believe I was a citizen.
Just not right that I have been paying income taxes & car insurance and medical bills when I should have been exempted like my brothers !!! Six years of no Food Stamps nor any sort of government handouts !
The Man is going to be hearing about this Gross Injustice.

Gee Fred, I wouldn't have thought that anyone as smart as you are would have wasted six years of everything free. And now that you find out you WERE eligible for all the free stuff you mess it up by proving that you aren't illegal.

Well I have read where people have went to get their social security checks and found out that they are dead and the Govt. won't accept the fact they are standing there proves they aren't dead and buried. Yet the Govt. kept taxing them on everything. So how do you tax a person who is standing in the office in front of you and deny them benefits they have earned because they have been dead for 3 years?

Just ask the Humpin Ho Sisters. They know Fred has been "dead" in various areas for at least three years.

Fred,
Redwoods are large, not as large as the Sequoias, and very tall, ( long ) trees. I believe you need to use something more appropriate as a comparison. How about a needle.

Fred,
I received the pictures and they are very good. Really reminds me of the area around Little Rock, Arkansas when they had a big flood there many years ago while I was just a kid. Looks as if as lot of houses will have water damage at the least.
