Well, Hell, Joe, that's easy.....
......they're liberals (i.e. with earthworm IQs and millisecond attention-spans)!
They'll probably want to use the ice-breaker at the mouf' of the Mississippi!!!! That would be perfect, in terms of liberal logic!!!!
I hope to gawd someone tots this all up as an itemized bill and publishes it. O'course that won't be any American print media.
I will remain astonished-----until this cretin gets re-elected---then I'll be flabbergasted!

I noticed one "little" last minute change in a House proposal to the bill that was just passed ... and it is aimed directly at our Governor here in SC .
It would allow state legislatures to order the use of funds over the opposition of Governors . "Unnamed" officials said this issue relates directly to SC , where Republican Mark Sanford has been highly critical of the legislation .
WAY TO GO MARK !! He has already had some fairly ugly battles with the Legislature over this , with the race card being played by Jim Clyburn in a big and personal way against Gov. Sanford .
Wish we had more like this man .... and I hope he wants to go after Lindsey Graham`s job .

I can't vouch for the accuracy of this but it was in yesterdays paper about our State Senators. Spending reports files with the state the past three months show: Several lawmakers checked into the Fairmount Hotel on Maui in Hawaii two days after the start of an emergency session on the budget in November. The lead State Senator on budget issues joined colleagues who left the fiscal crisis behind to go to India, where they toured the Taj Mahal and stayed in the Four Seasons and other luxury hotels.
Now does anyone still wonder why this state is so dam screwed up.

I think it was Jefferson who said:
"The natural progress (order?) of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground..." (paraphrase, sorry).
TJ may have been wrong on a lot of things (i.e., the "wisdom" of the common man, the future of capitalism/trade, the Froggie Revolution, the "Federalist" navy, etc.) but he was SPOT ON when it came to fearing and loathing the prospect of a central "federal" government. I think my (mis)quote is from that era----i.e. before Ratification.
Incidentally, TJ read Aristotle's philosophy IN THE GREEK!!! Yikes! That sort of dovetails with the 19th-century eighth-grade exam cited in the other thread above......

A lot of you people think that this whole problem started around 30 years ago. When re-election tumescent Congresspeople started repealing banking laws and forcing banks to loan to the unloanable.
Yet it worked for 30 years. What went wrong?
Inflation.
It slowed in the overall economy and reversed in the critical housing market.
That ruined the party!
The Stimuli bills [you know theres more coming] will easily exceed $3,500,000,000,000.00 before they are done.
Inside of 5 years, this will lead to double digit inflation and the party will be on again.
Its so simple,,,,,,,,,
