A little trick.....
My lap top began shutting down and I thought it was nearing the end?. A fella mentioned a trick I thought would trash the little bugger, it works!!
Use you shop vacuum on all the bottom vents and fan, just for a few seconds.

Perry,
I have Dell Laptop that is bad for overheating and I set it on two boards so the cooling vents on the bottom have some space. As for my desktops, I take the sides off and blow them out about once a month. Also have them set on rollers that hold them about an inch off the floor and I keep the plastic they set on wiped clean but they still manage to suck in more dust than you would think.

I do not do anything to my desktop or laptop. When it dies, replace it. Perfect time for an upgrade.

I wish I had money like some people who just buy a new laptop when it suits them.

I should have been more clear on my thread starter, 'dust' was the culprit, and the shop vac had the power to pull it out......so there!

Freddy, now don't you go applying vacuum to the vents and ports on your lil' laptop (a feather duster might just suffice..)
