Einstein once said, 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.'
It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats---yet they are still poor. Of course, liberal Dumocrates will refute these facts as propaganda from the radical right.

Lets see...Except for New Mexico they all voted for McCain. So if people who vote DNC are 100% insane, then people who vote GOP are close behind them at 90%.
Give it a bloody rest.

Why is there a belief that the political party is directly related to the level of poverty in Detroit??
Dang, I hate to be the one to bring you all up on current events, but Detroit, in general, builds cars. If the cars do not sell, there is NO work.

Well, yeah, but my rebuttal was funnier! Though I'm sure Warren (or one of the other GOP operatives here) will not think so.

ok everyone needs to admit that our two parties are broken and won't be fixed until neither of them has power. We need to stop electing career politicians and start electing the smartest people for the jobs.

Actually, that's not true. Liberals (Democrat's) have created this mess - Republicans just lost their way in the past two years+ sense Democrat's were placed in power by an ignorant public.
Obams recently stated "Now, my administration inherited a deficit of over $1 trillion, but because we also inherited the most profound economic emergency since the Great Depression, doing little or nothing at all will result in even greater deficits, even greater job loss, even greater loss of income, and even greater loss of confidence."
Although, it might be technically true that his Presidential Administration inherited it, but he himself did not. No, he created it. Before being elected President Barack Obama was a Senator in a party that controlled both houses of Congress with a lame duck President. From 2006-present, the economy has faltered increasingly. However, the big crash happened while he was a senator at a time when Congress ruled the land (e.g. a lame duck Presidency). Yes, President Bush still had some power, but the majority of power was with the Democratic Party-controlled Congress; with Senator Obama’s Congress. Add to that the fact that President Bush was unusually catering to Pres-elect Obama after the November election (huge error), and not only did Bush consult with Obama, but at Obama’s urging he authorized the bailouts for insurance company AIG, for car corporations, and for the $700billion TARP fiasco. Obama himself URGED the first $700 billion, the deficit “his administration” inherited was created by a budget that he and his party created in Congress just prior to his election as President.
No, Obama did not inherit the bad economy. He created it, and shame on him for misrepresenting its origin by sly wording rather than honest and genuine admission of mistakes. Bush had enough mistakes to take responsibility for, and the time for scapegoating passed when millions of Democrats (filled with the spirit of hope, change, and bi-partisan unity) booed the figurehead of 46% of the nation as his helicopter left the Inauguration.
Obama and the Democrats created the bad economy, it happened on their watch-because of their budgeting, their bailout demands, and their poor choices.
2012 will be the key year - either Republicans gain seats in Congress (perhaps even control of the House or Senate) or America will continue to be on a bullet train to bankruptcy. Your thinking that neither party can get us out of this mess is just wrong headed.

Can't get off the blame cycle can you!
Does it really matter HOW or WHO got us into this mess?
If only we could channel all this finger pointing into creative fixes, we might have a chance to rise above the mess.
Don't hold your breath!

I fell out my chair at his response to my singing cube mate.
I laughed so hard, my manager came down to see if I was okay.

The major cities in america are run by liberals and you see how screwed up they are. Give the other partys a chance to run them and then if they dont fix em, throw them out also.
Here in ct every major city is deeply in debt, school drop out rates are the highest ever, all three big city majors are either in jail or going there. Hartfords major jsut got indited 2 weeks ago. Our governor was in jail for a year
The stimulus package will end up doing one thing for sure- MORE politicians will end up in jail from greed and graff once they get there hands on the money

Jams,
A few years ago the Govt. spent a lot of money having a study done to determine what Middle Class is and I don't think they ever really came up with an answer for that. As for the poverty line, I am not sure they have actually decided what it would be.

I would definitely consider that a poverty line!!! In NJ and other states try to survive on double, triple or quadruple that amount! I think I paid 10,803 in Federal tax this year. I make a good salary but nothing to brag about and nothing close to 6 figures.
