CDC, OK point taken the bill was rushed through, however they told us, just as they did when Bush asked for us to bail out wall street, and that was fast tracked as well, because they told us we had to do it now, and we could not wait. OK I and others bought off on it, once again we were told it had to be done and sooner than later, well all I can do is trust they have more information on the subject matter the I do and as with Bush I will just have to trust they are keeping our best interest at heart.

As for transparency though this administration has been way more transparent then any I have seen.

As for criticizing the president, I have no problem with it, I was all over Bush when he was subverting the constitution and taking us into an illegal war, so I have no problem with it, it's the only way to keep them in check, however, I was not talking about Obama failing or not I was talking about our country failing, its bigger than any one person.

Yes, this admin is completely transparent to people with actual working brains.

BO the campaigner says, "I will go thru legislation line by line and take out all earmarks!"

As Pres he demands a Stimulus bill 80% PURE PORK [or earmarks as the Dems like to call it] and liberal sacred cows they have wanted to get for 20 plus years. He insists ir must be passed without ANYONE reading ir. The largest spending bill anywhere anytime.

Not a single line even glanced at.

Budget bill, estimated at 5000 to over 9000, earmarks. He says he will sign it, not a single one scratched. Dems claim its old business, PURE BULLSCHIT, it is CURRENT Gov. funding

TRANSPARENCY?
BO the campaigner LIED. no other possible answer
BO the campaigner says, "Lobbyists might as well leave Washington, there will be no place in my administration for them."

I guess that did not mean CABINET POSITIONS?

BO the campaigner LIED again, TRANSPARENTLY

And on balancing the budget, and on raising taxes, and on and on.

BO and his "crew" come from Chicago polotics. ALL their experience says say whatever, do whatever, just pay off the right people. Its all they know!

BO is going to make Bush look like a choir boy.

Here is a fix for taxes that would work and no one is left off of it. A straight % sales tax on everything but food and clothing. This would also make the IRS smaller, less government spending etc... And as far as our economic mess goes giving money to the banks and etc... not the way to go. Should have taken the almost 3 trillion and givin it back to the people that paid taxes in the first place, so they could have taken care of their mortgages. The pain would have been a lot less than it is now.

I would have liked to seen Obama take the "Opposition's" position about cutting taxes IMMEDIATELY ACROSS THE BOARD in an attempt to resuscitate the economy. He could then see if that policy would work, and if it DIDNT work, raise taxes after 2 or 3 years to fund whatever policy that he would then try.

I am of the (hopefully) sound mind that when you are running low on money, you STOP spending money until your (our) funds level come back up.

And the idiots who think Obama's a rock star and treated the election like an American Idol vote. They interview these clowns and they think Obama is great. They ask them what they think about the stimulus package and most of them have not even heard of it. They don't follow the news, yet their vot cancels out a well informed vote of another person.

Yes, Cobra Bill's posts are pure bilge, full of jabberwocky and flapdoodle, but at least his discommodious maundering is ninnyhammerly consistent and a constant reminder of the level of philosophical rumination that got us into this mess.

Here's an update on the bezzle....

http://http://market-ticker.org/archives/856-To-Obama-Stop-The-Bezzle-UPDATED.html
_____

Obama swears he will find the evil needles in the haystack.

His method is to burn the haystack.

and urged Americans not to “stuff money in their mattresses.” (Obama)

Why do I keep getting the feeling that he throws out sentences like this in the hopes that people will wonder what he means and do just that?

I've never heard a President who sounds like he is backhandedly trying to start a panic until this guy came along.

I saw in yesterday's paper where the unemployment rate in our county is now a record 15.2% and it will go higher this week as I know of two other small businesses which are going to be closing and possible a larger one soon. There are so many empty commercial buildings around here now that if you had a little extra money you could make some pretty good buys. I doubt if our Sears store makes it until July as I hardly see any cars in their huge parking lot any more. And it just keeps getting worse. And the people that voted for that fool think he is doing a great job, but can't answer any question about anything that has improved since he took office.
And Cobra Bill, before you jump in and take offence, I don't like him, didn't vote for him, and distrust him completely. But I do not want to see him fail as I love this country and it is on the verge of making what happened to the old soviet Union look like a minor disaster.

Ron

Fred,

He never even got the 100 day grace period that most presidents do before he had the good old boys in Congress ticked off at him and that takes some doing when you are president and your party has total control. Dam, he even has Fienstien thinking about running for Governor of California. I wish he would run some of them to Texas. Queen Pelosi could really straighten out your state.

Ron
It seems unAmerican to want him to fail. BUT, EVERYTHING he is doing is just MORE OF THE SAME that caused our problems. And those problems predate Bush1 and Bush 2. They predate me and I'm 67. And they can be laid at the feet of both Red and Blue elected idiots.
The term, "For All" is a death knell for ALL business when attached to a specific.
Attached to intangibles, its OK. Freedom for all, is fine. Opportunity for all, also fine. Equality for all, OK too.

HEALTH CARE for all, a ticking time bomb.
Education for all, tick, tick.
Home ownership for all, tick, tick
Jobs for all, tick, tick.
Social security for all, TICK, TICK

Government involved in business is a disaster that WILL HAPPEN, it may be years, but it is 100% CERTAIN.

The Governments business is running the Government, AFTER, listening to us. They don't do the listening and their "business" is 11 trillion in the RED.
Libs can gripe all the want about Bush adding 5 trillion to the RED. But Bush was only President. Congress spends the money. And Blues had power part of his time and Reds had power part of his time. And the Gov. "business" was 5 Trillion in the RED after BJ Clinton. And Trillions before he wagged his Weiner around the Oval Office.
The blame game is a horse and a horse for about a century. Plenty of blame to go around.

They can only make it worse or get out of the way, let the blood flow, and INDIVIDUAL citizens WILL fix the problem, or we will be finished. Government intervention INSURES we will be finished.

Dan

Good points, Dan.

What I don't understand is as government programs come up, someone always comes up with a 'budget' covering the program which turns out not even close to what it costs down the road, in the billions and trillions. Why do they keep doing it?

Also, cities and states are cutting back - workers are accepting salary cuts, workers are being furloughed, at least in CA. Why is nothing happening at the Fedeal level? I'd guess that if Federal workers were furloughed just a few days per month - tons of money could be saved.

We are so screwed.

Top 10 headlines that could signal a market bottom

1) Obama resigns

I do want him to fail and to fail badly.

I see it as the only way to convince this country's citizens that socialism does not work. We need to return to free-market entrepreneurial capitalism with no government interference , but it will not happen until Obama resigns in disgrace.
