Smile For Wes & CobraBill

This worked ok over in the test section with another one but I will now see if it will work here. I thought that Wes and CobarBill might enjoy it but all are free to watch it. The pictures aren't as good as they are in the full format because of the compression this site uses. Also you have to click on the play button on the bottom as it doesn't start automatically.

Nice. I love the snow blower. I used to see similar ones all the time in Nebraska as a kid. Those things are loud and really throw the snow.

Joe,

They use those huge ones in the Sierras and over the grapevine when they have normal snow. They have a couple that is just one huge engine with one on each end and they are big enough to run a Volkswagen Beetle through. But they don't have to use those to often. They showed them using one of them on TV and they blew the snow so high and far that it was breaking trees when it came down. That is a much better file when you have it full screen on your computer and don't have all the compression.

I collect them and must have close to 100 with some great scenery from all over the world. Some don't have sound and some you have to click to advance each picture.

A "snow blower" is a gay Eskimo.

That's a Rotary plow. And is the only thing i would go anywhere near snow to see.I just talked to a retired rail who fired on Rotaries in Wyoming. He said they were a real ***** to run.

Ron,

Out here on the ocean, we often talk about the days of wooden ships and iron men.
I think an apt description here would be iron horses, ridden by iron men. (salut!)

Maurice,

And just think that many of those railroads were built through the mountains before they had all of the machines they have today. The scenery is what I really enjoy about these files.

A preacherman once told me that the closer you get to God, the more beautiful things are, and that was why He created mountains.

Your eyesight is going bad. The quality of the pics were great. Much better than most crappy presentations on You Tube. Also, Patsy Kline is always great.

One of these days I'm taking the train up to Alaska. Its on my bucket list.

Edit - the only thing that sucks is your old galloping moose avatar.

Warren,

The moose will be gone soon and I am going back to my Pirate Ship. I just put it on there to see if it would work and even though it went in, I got an error message telling me the file never loaded. Not sure it it has to do with my computer or something in the site.

Thanks Ron,

I had to send it to my brother. He's 48, and worked the RR since he was 17 out of St. Louis.

John,

If you want the good version of it, send me your e-mail and I can send you the file attached to an e-mail. It is much better when seen in full screen. I collect those type files and people from allover send them to me.Some are great and some aren't so great, but there is a lot of beautiful scenery from allover the world in them..

Thanks Ron, this made my morning...!

My grandfather was a locomotive engineer and gave my brother and me rides on some of those old steam engines on the Southern Pacific RR in California.
Listening to Patsey Cline sign and watching the clips brought back a nice memory for me.

Bill,

I and a couple of others collect those type files and there are some great ones that show most of the really top scenery and places in the world. I have close to 100 of them, but I believe that one is my favorite. I have one with Elvis doing the singing in the background. Also when testing to see if I could get the link to work I put one in the Test Forum that isn't scenery but gives a really good perspective of distance and space and then comes back down to the smallest thing we can see.
