OK, tht clears this whole area up. 429 "long block" is an high end Cobra while a 302 "short block" is a low end Cobra. I guess that mine must be a "middle end" Cobra as it has a 351.

I think this car actually fits in the catagory of "rear-end Cobras".

I see that high-end Cobras also have automatic transmissions...

Shoot, no power windows or door locks, no A/C, no cruise control, no sub-woofer...

If this car was used in a film, it's most likely "thrashed". Every "picture car" I worked with was usually one of several built and bought for the film. Most Cobras used in a movie are just run of the mill cars, bought cheap...then all painted the same color and used doing many things like crashes, spin-outs and everything else you can imagine. Some are personal cars rented for the film and not used for driving, or action shots..maybe just parked in a driveway..static.
One thing for sure, when a cool car comes on the set, it get a good thrashing from the drivers and stuntmen long before it every gets on camera. Word to the wise...don't ever rent your car to the studios...just sell it to them.
This E-bay car appears to be a bit of a low end car...but it could be very nice.

I just received my May 2009 issue of Hot Rod and it has a couple of interesting articles and one deals with movie cars. Those used in the Fast & Furious series. They are making another Fast & Furious movie and will use over 240cars. They have wrecked and destroyed so many 1968/1972 Dodge Chargers that they can't hardly find one and people who have them won't even talk to them. The one Charger that Vin Diesel drove actually had a528 CI Hemi with a BDS 8-71 blower. Many others they used 350 Chevys in with phony blowers. If you have a nice 68/70 Charger, don't let the movie people near it.

I must have a middle one, I have a 358.

What a POS!

Someone needs to call Fred and explain to him that his red, automatic, leather cobra isn't any better than those poor 302s.
