Geithner Seeks Power to Seize..........

President Obama said later Tuesday that he hopes "it doesn't take too long to convince Congress" that it should approve the new powers.

Would this be 'step 2' of 10 for 'O'NO's socialist state?.

"Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action."

Over 200 years and it's simply amazing the insight our founders had. I guess we see it more today because the good old USA is under attack, or so it seems.

Hey, I just figured out where I'd seen Geithner before!

I'm absolutely POSITIVE that he's the famous "Bat Boy" from the World News* newspaper (one of the finest examples of "check-out literature" I've ever read).

Anyway, let's all hope that Geithner does indeed have a "seizure"!!!!!

*gotta check with Ros-cue-oh to see if I have the right pub!

Chow,

Once he gets that how long until he wants the power to seize private businesses and homes? These people are almost as power happy and stupid as the Govt. of this state has become. Maybe a new National Flag with a Swastika and a Buzzard setting on it is in order.

Ron :)

Some lawmakers have no problem giving Geithner the power, gets the monkey off their back when it all crashes.

And that is really the crux of it isn't it. We have all these politicians always looking to blame somebody else when things go wrong. It happens in the general populace as well. There are just not that many people left with honesty and integrity, and there are almost none of them are working in government.

If I ran my finances the way the last administration did, and the way this one seems to be heading I would be in jail.

Why must you always go back to Bush? Is there no time that moving forward is the best course, everytime you post about Bush the truth suffers.

427 S/O 03-27-2009 09:36 AM

'WHY'?, because he's addicted to K. Olberman, his entire show revolves around Pres. Bush and B. O'Reilly. I'm quoting from an email, personally, I can't stomach an hour of that contempt.

My wife switches over the Olberman and that lisbo once in awhile just to see what they are talking about now - they are still on W and now Cheney and Rove - nothing about BO sending more troops to fight the Taliban (probably a good thing) but each time W did it they were on it like flies on poop. Also, nothing about Seehan (sp) dumping on BO for not stopping the war on terror, but of course it's no longer the War on Terror - it's some sort of manby-bamby feel good thing.

The MSNBC ratings continue to be in the dumper with only Cobra(spacenoCobra)Bill and VRM waiting each night.

I bring up Bush because some people think that the GOP should be given more time to run the country despite the GOP screwing the pooch in just about every way possible. Maybe you think that they did a good job - obviously enough people disagreed with you. Don't worry, though - at the rate Obama is going he will have doubled the debt (Just like Bush:p) in just 4 years and he will get voted out after screwing a bunch of different pooches. Think Jindal will be ready by then?

And I don't follow Olberman.

Steve

PS - CdC, please pay attention to what Jamo said.

cobra de capell 03-27-2009 12:35 PM

But, VRM - no one here is intersted in W's record - we've all moved on - therefore, pay attention to what the posters here want - move on, get current - we really don't need or require a history lesson from you every day.

Although you may not follow Olberman - he does the exact same thing as you do - every single day - all W, all the time. It's a sickness.

Fred Douglass 03-27-2009 03:40 PM

Hey, when a Dumbocrat Sh*ts the Bed......

.......as Bill Clinton did with (the conservatives' national hero) MONICA LEWINSKY......it's "move on!" AD FREAKIN' NAUSEUM. Without fail.

But let one conservative (or even a liberal in conservatives' clothing like [either] Bush) do something wrong (allegedly or otherwise) then it's carved in stone-----which, just coincidentally, is apparently the primary constituent of the liberal brain (if there is such a thing!)....Total asymmetry. And, BTW, total hypocrisy. Pinkos will be blaming Bush for everything for generations! Even the coming mini-ice-age will be placed at his door! Ar, etc.

Liberals can get away with things conservatives cannot even mention, let alone do!

It's either moral myopia or moronitude------methinks it's usually a combination of BOFE!!!!

Carrion,

Talk about Olberman, I think you guys forget Rush going on for 15 years over Clinton, I used to listen to him, until I got sick of hearing nothing but Clinton bashing day after day year after year, even after he was out of office, he would not let go, he still goes on about Hilary at nauseum, so I started searching for other voices on the radio, and guess what, I found truth! so I walked away from Hate, never to look back, thank you Rush! I feel way better now!

But, Rush moved on - Olberman has not done that, therein is the problem - on the other hand, it's fine with me since only a half dozen people watch him each night.

Plus, it was not Clinton bashing - it was simply reporting what Clinton was doing all day and part of the night - just the news.

Fred Douglass 03-27-2009 07:49 PM

I don't see how ANYONE can say......

...that Bill Clinton "lowered the dignity" of the Oval Office. How ridiculous! All he did was receive oral satisfaction from a barely-adult heifer and occasionally (it is to be hoped, only occasionally) relieve his own "pent-up passion" into the pantry sink! I'm sure Reagan did something comparable.

Oh he didn't? Oh well, let's MOVE ON anyway......

Sharroll Celby 03-27-2009 09:48 PM

The past 16 years we had 8 Dem president years and 8 GOP president years. BUT in those same 16 years, we had 2 Dem Congress years then 12 GOP Congress years, then 2 Dem years. NOTHING happens overnight.

A reasonable post by you with only a little liberal, "Smoothover". IN BOLD, RED.

One of the major democrat gripes about Bush was increasing the National Debt from $5 trillion to $10 trillion in EIGHT YEARS. Obama Has already asked to MORE than Double it in less than 100 days. NOT ASKED, DEMANDED.

And you call that, "seems to be heading!":JEKYLHYDE:D

Aside from that, I agree, all the politicians need to be replaced. I have never been for term limits, but now it looks like a constant turn over of rookies is less onerous than the 'entrenched' power abuses we see today.
One term Senate, 3 terms in the House, 6 years is plenty. NO crossovers.

Dan

Dan, this current fiasco has managed to involve 'everyone' in one way or another. The next couple of elections should show the anger.

Yes, but. Can anger and intelligence overcome stupidity, corruption, and the 'Gimme, gimmies?' The welfare parasites won't easily give up their gravy train.
