Bernie,
I knew you were just saying it tongue in cheek. I don't know if there are any irony smileys in one of the places that I get some from or not. Maybe we could combine a couple and make one.

Scott,
(chuckle) enormousness secondaries! (chuckle)
The point I was attempting to make to Steve is that we've already been down this road with Iraq. There were suppose to be WMD in Iraq. When we got there there were no WMD. Same sort of thing could occur with Pakistan and the Taliban.

Pete,
I think the big difference is that we know for a fact that Pakistan has nuclear weapons and that the Taliban are trying to get hold of them. As long as the Pakistan military can keep them safe, we don't need to go in, but if they over run one of the storage places, we had better do something fast.

Pete,
Completely different road. Even if Hussein did have WMD he would not use them against us because he had no wish for him or his sons to get killed (we would have made it a 'green' country). He would more likely use them against Iran or his own people. Bush did a perfect job in scaring the crap out of Hussein enough for him to allow the weapons inspectors back in. Iraq was also a great balance to Iran - they were perfectly content to regularly beat the crap out of each other. If the Taliban or Al Quaida took over Iraq (not very likely) that would have been a different story.
Steve
