I agree. He went way over the line. If you want to say something about Sarah Palin then say it. She put herself into the spotlight. But what he said about her daughter was wrong.
I never did like Letterman or even think he was funny at all. I would have his a$$ in court if possible.

Women and children on the Conservative side seem like fair game as are white people in general in the media.
Here's the interesting part - it will not happen in the lifetime of those posting here, but some day whites will be the minority in America. I wonder if a minority status will be claimed or respected? Probably not for 1,000 years.

I don't like the guy at all, so, I don't watch him, period. That's the best form of protest any of us can lodge. His sponsers keep tabs on his viewership. Watch what happens to Katie Couric if her numbers stay where they are...she'll be out of a job...just like Letterman should be.

I have never liked Letterman or thought he had any sense of humor at all. Kind of like a Fart in a Space Suite to me.

Hate to tell you this, but in Ca. we are going to be the minority within 10 years.
Can't wait to be discriminated against so I can get all the benefits that the current minorities now enjoy.

Letterman is a loser savant.Leno has waxed his a$$ for over ten years running.Imagine that-10 years in a row of being "runner-up" in a two man race.
If Conan can win in the "Neilson wars"against Letterman,Ol Daves career will be over.
Letterman just isn't funny.
ANd somebody please just shoot that little bald-headed prick on the other side of Lettermens stage who actually thinks he's somebody.

He made a joke about Palins daughter getting knocked up by A-Rod during a game, but he seemed to be thinking about Bristol (18 year old who was knocked up), but it turns out that the daughter who was at the game was a 14 year old.
Letterman did end up making a statement/apology on a show. I do not watch him, but if I am building artwork on the computer he might be on in the background once in a while (I like the news on just before him). I heard his apology and wondered what the hell he did myself.
I don't think he is all that funny either, but I also do not think he deliberately went after a 14 year old kid.

I remember David when he first appeared. I liked him because Johnny Carson was irrelevant to my age group. Letterman brought a whole new crowd of folks into the late night watchers. Surely, it had been intended to groom him for Johnny's spot. However, Letterman was a little more caustic then they had bargained for. For Letterman to keep his new demographic crowd, he had to go further down the path. When Johnny retired, it was clear Letterman would not work out. So Leno got it and Letterman left the network. Pissed off. And he has stayed PO ever since. I think he has become quite bitter about it. He was funny at one time. But no more. Now he is in a ratings war with the Red Headed Step Child (who I like by the way!)
Conan will not turn conservatives or liberals off. That would be stupid... forfiet half of his viewers. David already did that.
Ya'll remember Letterman stirring O'Reilly's coffee with his pencil (before O'Reilly came on stage?)
