Default 15 Reasons to Oppose Climate Bill (Cap and Trade)

15 Reasons to Oppose Climate Bill (Cap and Trade)

http://www.clubforgrowth.org/2009/06..._climate_b.php

This bill will be voted on probably before July 4th in the Congress, the Waxman-Markey "cap and tax" bill "American Clean Energy & Security Act." Before today, the bill ran a little over 1,000 pages. Early this morning, Waxman dropped a 300-page amendment into it. Be sure to ask your Representatives if they plan to read either of these before voting on the bill.

Greenpeace.....
"Since the Waxman-Markey bill left the Energy and Commerce committee, yet another fleet of industry lobbysists has weakened the bill even more, and further widened the gap between what Waxman-Markey does and what science demands. As a result, Greenpeace opposes this bill in its current form. We are calling upon Congress to vote against this bill unless substantial measures are taken to strengthen it."

In other words, Greenpeace is angry that it doesn’t get more confiscatory and economically suicidal.

Who Pays for Cap and Trade?
Hint: They were promised a tax cut during the Obama campaign.

Cap and Trade is a Socialist's/Marxists Zyklon B for the extermination of capitalism and individual liberty.

It will affect every single person living in the United States.

It will first and foremost regulate ALL business in the country, as only so much carbon dioxide "emissions" (meaning the stuff you breathe out every time you take a breath) will be allowed before MAJOR punitive additional taxation is levied against the business. They will then have an option to 'trade' the allotments they do not use to companies that have already 'used' all their allotments in a given time.

This measure is effectively designed and targeted to kill the energy industry and force it to fail so the government can take it over and nationalize it.

But it will also negatively affect the livestock industry, who call this measure the 'fart tax', and many farmers will have to pay a major tax to keep animal herds. Same with food production companies. Government will be looking to nationalize and run/regulate all the farms and food production with this measure.

THEN it will extend to every homeowner and apartment dweller in the country. You will only be allowed to expel so much carbon dioxide by the mere fact of your existence and way of life. You will be assessed this tax based on how big your home is, how many people live with you, what your weight is, how many TVs, Refrigerators and gadgets you own, what kind of cars you dirve etc., etc., etc. All of that will be used to calculate how much you must pay for the air you breathe.

Cap and trade in my estimation, is the blueprint for a hard tyranny of brutal oppression and impoverishment of the whole people.

I'm hearing 210 - 210 with 14 undecided. Keep calling the swtichboard 202-224-3121 and emailing through here to ensure your message gets heard!

Remember: Over the 2012-2035 timeline, job losses average over 1.1 million. By 2035, a projected 2.5 million jobs are lost below the baseline (without a cap and trade bill). Particularly hit hard are sectors of the economy that are very energy-intensive: Manufacturers, farmers, construction, machinery, electrical equipment and appliances, transportation, textiles, paper products, chemicals, plastics and rubbers, and retail trade would face staggering employment losses as a result of Waxman-Markey.

Call your Representative today to tell them not to strangle the American economy.
