I know what the topic is, and actually I am on topic, I think it would be wrong to take away the benefits even for the new employees, I think as in with federal service, the problem with retirement benefits, is that the politicians only have to serve one term to qualify for a lifelong pension, a civil servant contributes to the retirement during his or her entire career with the exception of employers contribution to 401k.
I still would have to get back to the point that if you are looking for the best and the brightest you need incentive, you guys should though go after the retirement of the elected officials, a one or two term retirement is just wrong, not much can be done about federal, but you do have the ability to have a referendum on the ballet in California
