I just heard that she decided to Quit with over a year left on her term. She said she can do more for Alaska out of office.

She and McCain were just sacrificial lambs in the last election. Neither would ever be a factor in future politics. The Repub bosses knew they had no chance no matter who the Demo nominee was. So Mac, the good soldier, took one for the team and he picked an obscure, never to be anything, nobody to fade away with him. The sad thing is that some campaign workers believed they were actually in the running and blamed her for the loss. IT WAS a forgone conclusion. It wasn't Palin's fault, it was 8 years of Repubs acting AND spending like Democrats. If they are going to act like Democrats, might as well elect a Demo,
OOPPPS,,,WRONG AGAIN!!

I've read rumors of Embezzlement from when she was Mayor Palin. But could very well be just rumors??? I really don't see how this could help her in any presidential bid. If she can't make it as a Gov, she surely wouldn't make it as Pres!

I don't know what her motive is now----but OBama campaigned for pres ever since he got elected to the senate--he NEVER did and senate work for the country or the state of Illinois--if he voted at all it was just PRESENT---so if she is starting to campaign now, she has more time to devote to building up chests of money for ads and such--maybe community organizors--voter registration---

You know, I'd really love to bang her with her glasses on, but maybe it's time she gets back to cleaning up the trailer and posting pics on a GILF site.
We need to get back to serious folks for a serious job.

I'll second that! I do think this is 'career suicide' for Palin. She has basically thrown herself to the wolves (MSM) and will have no bully pulpit from which to speak. Add to that a label as a 'quitter' and you can write her off. Still hot, though!

I agree with that, but who is there to chose from that might even run for the office? It seems the few that I feel may be good don't want anything to do with it.

Palin may have added an intriguing twist (plus a bit of eye candy) to the last election and cut a polarizing profile for the republican base to rally 'round, but she never came close to representing the best that America has to offer. If anything she is a walking, talking (especially the talking part) caricature of some of the less than positive stereotypes that alienate the conservative movement from the younger voters. The republican party can and must come up with a way more credible and viable candidate.
It did not help the conservative cause to cloak the message in a smirking, beaming redneck twang or to corrupt it with a bunch of pandering, xenophobic innuendo. McCain generally maintained a loyal, soldierly stoicism, but you could plainly see him wince every time Sarah opened her mouth and started fluttering her eyelashes.
Then again, if Obama's "change" fails to produce tangible results, it may not really matter who the candidates are and a disillusioned electorate may well be inclined to kick him and the democrats to the curb regardless.

The next good candidate is...in the shadows right now. I see a dark horse coming forward, hopefully to put BoBo back on the midnight train to Chicago (apologies to Gladys Knight and the Pips).
