ugh... ever have one of those days???
Today has been one of those days that you just wish you could delete from ever happening! Just after midnight my wife sent me a message online that we had a major problem! GREAT!!!! I'm trying to get the hell out of here in one piece, what could it be? The AC unit in my rental house went out. the tenants called someone to look at it. Must have picked the biggest name in the book because the price was REDICULOUS! They quoted $2500 to replace the compressor and $4000 to replace the whole AC system. So I get online and go to craigslist. What do I find? A local company offering a complete heat and air system INSTALLED for $2995. So I called them and they have a "type A" system, installed for $1195 with a 10yr warranty. they refered to type A and type B with type B being like a construction grade, had a smaller warranty and stuff. $1195 is doable! 10yr parts and 5yr labor.
so then I wake up this morning to... "don't be mad." that's never a good sign! Well, my wifes car broke down on her way home from her class last night. Clutch went to the floor and won't come back. Father in law was able to at least get it home by forcing it into 3rd gear and driving in 3rd the whole way home. Most likely either the Clutch master or slave and I'm leaning heavily toward slave after reading some similar cases on the VW forums. Well, the master is $120 and the slave is $80. great.. just replace both right? Problem solved! Well, then I do some more research and VW was kind enough to make the slave and throwout bearing one piece! So the whole trans has to come out to replace slave!!!! Quote was $1200 to replace slave and master. $1400 if I want them to go ahead and do the clutch too while trans is out. So, I told my wife to wait. I'll just go online and find her another car to drive for a few weeks until I get home. I need another car anyways and I have all the tools needed to do the work, why pay $1000 in labor?
Add to the fact that I'd like to grab my boss by her throat everytime she mumbles somehting at me and just choke the $hit out of her! If any of you have ever worked in a server room.. the hum can get a little loud! Well she talks in her 6" voice and expects you to struggle to understand what hte hell it is she is trying to say. Half of the conversation is me saying "Huh?"
UGH!!!!!!!!! I need a drink!

Josh,
You deserve one.
Just come home in one piece, NOTHING else matters, NOTHING else is more important.. to YOU OR your Family.
Hang in there man, God has a plan for us all and today he is testing you.
Just remember,
"This too Shall Pass"

Josh,
I think we have all had those days. Just think how much better they make an average day look the next day. Take care and come home safely.

Hang in there buddy! Try to focus on things that make you happy (like coming home, family and friends, gettin' laid, etc etc)

Josh, maybe it isn't her voice - perhaps your ever advancing age is starting to diminish your hearing. If you were working at a PD by now, you would be working grave yard and be even more upset about these issues that can only be solved during the day time. Relax, chill. It all works out.

I think it was better in 90-91 when I was in the middle east because we had no contact other than mail that took two weeks one way. I feel for you man, all I had to worry about was not getting killed. Good luck, and get home safe.
