I am guilty as charged and still on board...I sincerly hope that every single individual out there that can legally bring a loaded weapon to a public event of any kind to do it as protected speech and a right guaranteed by Constitution and they should also demand that their elected officials support that right ...the more the merrier.....the sooner the better.......And I would also encourage them to speak to the Media every opportunity they have so the country can judge how intelligent and reasonable they are...

Your sarcasm is puerile - no need to hide your preferences.

You guys need to figure out the difference between a semi automatic rifle and an "assault rifle". The term assault rifle comes from the military and means a rifle that is capable of both semi automatic and fully automatic operation. Liberals like to throw out the term assault rifle for shock value, when the civilian version of these rifles operates just like any semi automatic weapon. The liberals get their feathers ruffled (sp) over the look of the weapon, and not the capability.

In the non-gun world, a gun shoots [the gun, not the person] and a gun is a piece of machinery. Therefore, all guns are MACHINE GUNS. Everybody knows that!

Agreed - you're not hiding anything. Your agenda is quite clear.
My preference is that any American citizen uphold their obligation to tell their elected Government of its' failings. If the mere presence of a legitimately owned and carried weapon - of ANY legal nature - should cause that Government concern, then their agenda is suspect. I have absolutely no concern with anyone carrying a firearm in open and obvious display, whether at a baseball game, a town hall meeting, a presidential rally, or even a Cub Scout meet. It is action with it that would concern me; brandishing without obvious reason would serve as cause for intervention. Mere display is neither offensive nor cause for Chicken-Little reaction.
Although I'm no politician, I trust that answers your question.

You have a right to your opinion .... I want to hear the politicians opinions and accept the consequences (good or bad) of his opinion..that would be a defining moment in this issue... the White House Press let Obama wiggle off the hook with a " respect the right " answer....the question (IMHO) should have been to the effect, " Does the President think that is a appropiate and reasonable thing to do..." Of course they don't want to answer that question and that is precisely why they should be asked.....
